It just seems inevitable every time he steps to the plate. O-1 outs, guys on 1st & 2nd…double play. Next time up, nobody on, single. He has 1 HR & 8 RBI in the last 25 games. Kiermaier in his last 25 games has 2 HR and 11 RBI and he’s at the end of the lineup. Vlads making $14.5 million while Kiermaier is earning $9 million. Obviously this is a small sample size but it really shows how average he’s been. He’s 64th in the league for OPS. This isn’t the Vlad we expect.

Vladdy can’t catch up to fastballs this year. He is also the king of fouling 3-1 pitches straight back this year. Heater down the pipe, fouls them straight back just like clockwork

Mariners, Astros, Rangers, Jays. It's gonna be a bloodbath in the AL West and the AL Wild Card in September. Essential win for the Jays tonight, finally coming in clutch when they needed to against a really dangerous O's team. Schneider pulling Kikuchi in the 4th again after a defensive error behind him, honestly saw Kikuchi escaping that jam when Garcia let in the tying run. Honestly may not have even got to extras. But hey, it's typical overanalyzing Schneider. At the least, he didn't bring in Romano in the 9th for a non-save, Romano rocks it in the actual save. Can't slow down at all with who they're up against.

Came here to say the exact thing about Kikuchi getting pulled. He's the hottest pitcher is baseball since the ASG. Regardless of who the pitchers are, I hate seeing any guy get pulled just for the next guy to allow the runs anyways.

Literally Schneider pulled Gausman too early when he was finding his stride and getting outs in the playoff series vs the Mariners and the BP imploded and the Jays lost the game and the series. Playoff baseball is actually the opposite of what you believe is happening with Schneider. It’s actually about taking chances because each move/non-move and the results from each are asymmetrical in impact. The distribution curve is completely out of whack and cannot be trusted as much, much of the regular season and career numbers become far less reliable. In other words, you have to play what’s in front of you on the field instead of only what a stat sheets says. Schneider’s inexperience is clearly evident in these types of moves.

A pitcher can catch a pop up. It’s ridiculous when infielders knock pitchers over when the pitcher is about to catch the ball. Happened in a Phillies game the other day too. It’s insane-pitchers cover first all the time, but nobody trusts them to catch easy popups.

They need to limit how many times they throw him out there for 2 innings. It's not worth it if they don't have a lead. It's not just pitch count but cooling off then going back out puts relievers at injury risk

So I stand by my opinion that it's not worth it to throw him out there 2 innings on a night when you're not scoring runs.
