Its a shame the crowd didn't get it. When these corps take the field they are mean fighting machines, but here in this encore you get to see the personality behind the corps. What you see is a bunch of 14-21 year olds being goofballs and having fun. This is Drum Corps- serious work, tons of fun.

Finally got to experience this encore in Canyon last year, and finally understood why no video can truly do justice. Amazing energy, and the level of fun only an encore can bring.

I’m a part of a high school marching band as a mellophone player, and I agree. I saw a few world class corps at an event unrelated to school, but kinda a part of band ish. It was truly a blessing. Band is the most welcoming community I’ve ever been in, and I’m so glad to be a part of it.

People are forgetting the main point of this... HAVING FUN!!! Who cares if there was a few little mistakes. The main thing is the memories. 20 years down the road, you will not remember that you played a wrong note of forgot to cut off. You will remember singing with each other and being in front of a crowd that calls your corps name. You will remember the crowd singing back and enjoying themselves and isn't that what is all about? I think a few corps have forgotten this on their way to #1.

I love low brass. As a mellophone player, I stand by the fact that euphonium is the best instrument in the band.

I love videos like this, because you can really see the feel of the group. It’s such a blessing to have such a kind, welcoming, and supportive community. I’m so glad that I am a part of my school’s band. These years are ones I’ll never forget, and when I grow old enough, I hope to either be a part of this corps, or the Bluecoats. Marching band competitions are probably different from DCI comps, but where I’m from, we don’t hate other bands. Band is such an amazing community of energetic, chaotic, creative musicians who are doing what they love with their whole heart. In fact, my middle sister once left her sousaphone at the school during a comp (don’t ask me how because I have zero clue) and an opposing band allowed her to use one of theirs. The school had an undefeated year that year. Band is truly one of my only reasons for living at the moment. The exhilaration of the field and the jokes that are made always make my day brighter. If whoever is reading this isn’t in band, there is no pressure at all from me, but band is an amazing experience. It creates so many amazing friendships and memories that’ll never be forgotten. Band is the most welcoming and comedic group I’ve ever been a part of. I recommend joining with all of my heart. It’s helped me through so many different times. Also, MELLO GIRL AT 0:40!! IM A MELLO GIRL TOOOOO!!!!

You could still learn a brass instrument. Ive met many woodwinds who learned a brass instrument for drum corps.
