BLUE LAKES | Hiking The Best Trails in Telluride, Colorado

Hiking to the one of the most aqua blue alpine lakes we've ever seen. Blue Lakes hike between Telluride and Ouray almost instantly become one of our favorite hikes in the state of Colorado. I went on 86 hikes, mostly in RMNP, last year and took a sandwich about half the time. I put my sandwich and a pickle in a Teflon container to keep it from getting crushed. I always make sure I have 2 or 3 granola bars in my pake. I keep a can of foam Fix-A-Flat tire inflater in the car and the motorcycle. Only needed it a couple times in 40 years, but I was really glad I had it those times. Big fan of your videos.

Tire pressure gauges cost a couple bucks at any auto parts store. Also, I always keep a small air compressor and tire repair kit in all my cars. Fix a flat anywhere, not terribly difficult.

All the traffic on County Road 7 going into the trail head has made that drive pretty rough. They are going to require permits to hike that trail this year. The price of popularity.

Pack a fly rod. The middle lake is fabulous fishing for cutthroats and cutbows. Can't wait to go back, but next time with more clearance than a Honda Civic!🙄

It changes every year. I haven’t been to the San Juan’s since last summer/fall, but the front range definitely has snow at higher elevations still! You may be okay for this hike but I bet Sneffels still has snow

We actually eat really clean, but sometimes in small towns at 4am you don’t have the best options, and on big hikes we like to enjoy a few treats!
