Idk this feels like it's pandering so hard to the hyperbolic reaction over the bad trailer. I genuinely have no idea how you guys are overreacting so much to some if these stills considering you watched season 1. I mean to each their own, you are within your own right to dislike or like whatever you want, I don't want to take away from that, but the "critical" approach you took in this reaction just felt incredibly bad faith. Maybe I should rephrase that. Bad faith may not be it, but it just felt like you came into this episode *ready* to hate it, like you already had your mind made up that it was going to be bad, and thus were only looking out for things you could point out that were bad. Skipping stuff like Karasu's stepovers/dribbling which was frankly some of the best dribbling animation they've made for the show, maybe it was a harmless editing thing, but it just adds to the feeling that the reaction is only here to attack shots that aren't even meant to be paused and are meant to be seen in motion, which is how an audience experiences anything really. You could go to some of the best sakuga animation in shows like Demon Slayer and jjk, selectively pause on certain frames and they could look just as, if not more goofy than some of the stills in this episode. If you guys approached this episode and reaction with a more central mindset, looking at what the show is actually doing rather than what it could be instead, you would realize things like coloring and auras are way more vibrant and "flame" like instead of the lackluster fog of the first season, you would notice the action is much more well paced with Isagi's monologues, no use of off putting white backgrounds anymore, and not stopping the action while Isagi is monologuing, you would notice the fast editing makes shots like the Chigiri one from the trailer, because of the fast paced editing and flow of the action from previous shots just flows way better, and isn't nearly as off putting as that one cut from the trailer. You would notice the far better use of cg that actually enhances the animation/presentation instead of detracting from it, being used for still 3d showings of the entire field, or for Karasu's great dribbling animation. The excessive pausing also stopped you from realizing how well the episode flows in comparison to any episode from a match in season 1. So much of what was lacking in season 1 *has* been improved in season 2, so I don't really know how anyone could have such a hyperbolic reaction if they watched season 1. That being said I do get the sentiment and wish that the adaptation quality got the treatment of something like a Demon Slayer or a JJK, I mean who doesn't. Regardless, saying something like Shidou's goal "barely moved" when the *entire point* of an *impact frame* is to be a strong image with a sense of power, which is exactly how any of the shots that lead to goals in this series have been, will and *need* to be animated/adapted, if you want to capture any of power that the panels from the Manga have. When criticizing the "movement" what's actually fair to criticize in these action scenes is the movement of everything *leading up to* the goal, not the impact frame of the goal which is *literally* meant to be a still impact shot. It shows either ignorance of what you are criticizing, a lack of ability to verbalize what you want to criticize or, at worst, a bad faith representation of what you are watching and/or looking to criticize. Regardless this approach of constantly pausing looking for things that look bad, is *already* a flawed approach to watch any animated product. Cinematography is a *thing* in animation, most of the time, in any animated product, anything that is not meant to be the direct focus of the shot/scene, anything that isn't what the viewer is being *directed* to look at by the camera and the framing, is *always* going to look a bit goofier and off putting if you *pause* and look at it. The first episode that you seem to have liked and said had "better quality/animation" had *plenty* of stills in which you could have *also* paused and seem some pretty goofy shit, because you can *literally* do that to any anime/animated work. Go find some of your favorite shows and watch an episode in the same way you just watched this one. It won't take you long to find stuff like this either. I'm not trying to say that this is the best adaptation ever made, or even a great one necessarily, or that you are *wrong* for not enjoying it. I'm saying your entire approach to watching the episode already created a propensity for you to dislike it regardless of its actual merits, you could be watching fucking attack on titan, and if you watched it like this, you would dislike its presentation all the same, or nearly to the same degree, even though that's a show you will rarely find anyone say it's bad looking outside of maybe the 4th season. Idk it just makes me sad to watch something like this as a viewer since it feels like you aren't even here to watch something you enjoy, and what's the point of reacting to a second season of a show if you don't enjoy the slightest bit about it. After all, all you would find would be the same things to criticize so at that point what's even the point of the content ? Well is what it is, I hope you manage to enjoy some of what's to come a bit more at the very least, but this was just so lame to watch for me, personally. Maybe that's just me though

even from reading your first few lines of comments, it's pretty obvious you're not using your brain & instead being influenced by your own preconceived notions for example, - Karasu's animation could have easily been adapted from Bachira's step overs last season - The goofy frames you refer to in the high quality animations are there to ensure the flow (even real life videos can be paused to find these frames), even if you had a collection of 4K images they would never be an animation, just a high quality slideshow. The point is that there are a lack of intermediate frames in this episode that results in an incredibly clunky animation. - The vibrant coloring of the aura is also a stylistic choice: having the initial auras be relatively dim would allow you really highlight key plays by turning up the saturation in those specific moments (like when Isagi took Naruhaya's skill in the last season). If the aura colors were to be turned to the max in every situation, you'd miss the opportunity to show contrast through color design. I didn't read the rest but just from what I've seen already, you're clearly not versed in animation despite pretending to be, which is pointless and lowkey a little pathetic, given much you've written just for it to be so easily disproved. Even if you're pretending, you should at least try to make claims with a little more weight in them, you know.
