Honestly isagi is my goat and I personally feel like always being in his head with him makes it feel like I know him and when he pops off it feels like watching your younger sibling accomplish things you knew they could do. And when it comes to yuji it makes me feel like I’m watching my son do his thing every time he steps out there and starts working mfs so it’s like a different typa proud different from what I feel watching isagi

What Blue Lock does well is make victories feel somewhat bittersweet and still not enough for the reader. Manshine assist was a win but didn’t help his goal of scoring and Isagi’s comments to the interview showed he or the reader shouldn’t be satisfied. And the Ubers match his first goal was shut down after it happened giving room to still improve it, and the last Ubers goal was a team effort carried by Hiori so fans are still wanting him to score his own goal entirely under his own skill. Isagi doesn not need to hard lose because even in successes the author shows he still needs to improve. Also Barcha was absolutely a failure for Isagi and every character said so in the post-match chapter.

Isagi is my goat, and Yuji is a really solid character too. Both characters are gonna be the the thing to overcome the main conflict of the story and they’re both slowly reaching that point, Yuji given the recent chapters, and Isagi building up his ego and plays and involving everyone as well as the best of everyone, not just himself, which kinda goes against Jinpachi and what he’s trying to prove/achieve

If you consider making more blue lock content. I think it would be interesting to hear about what makes Rin such an opposing force compared to the other rival characters. Besides being blue lock's "no. 1" i think a big part is that we never get to see whats going on inside his head, which makes us question what he'll do next.
@sightfield6 ай бұрын
Both have stable near perfect character development, usually shonen writers only elevate MC's ability while his mind remains unchanged. I don't see that in these two, and i'm very glad for it. They grow a lot mentally. It's a small step for shonen manga to have proper writing. Usually it's only seinen manga that came up with that feature while shonen manga only brought cheap stuff like foreshadowing, massive increase of powerscaling, and plot twists. Back again, they grow from chapter to chapter. While Isagi's way of growth is much more open, Yuji is much more hidden, but you can pretty much see his growth with every decision he chooses.
@sightfield6 ай бұрын
What i'm trying to say is that, it's not about winning the fight, it's about achieving new understanding (basically mental awakening).

I will say that while I don't mind too much how Isagi-centric Blue Lock is usually, I would've definitely liked to see the other NEL matches. I'm not asking for them to be extended for 30 chapters like BM vs Ubers, but I don't think 5 chapters or so is too much to ask instead of 1/2.
@TheeKing76 ай бұрын
When it comes to the Vigilante arc in MHA, I believe it's just a training arc. He learns and masters most of his abilities and combinations of them then they bring him back. He does indeed suffer but that suffering pays off with Class 1A vs Deku and Uraraka's speech which are two insanely good scenes for emotional pay offs. Those are probably my favorite scenes in the series and it really boosted my feelings for the series.

For me I’ve just never really liked protagonists that seem to win all the time. I love isagis progression but like it’s just harder for me to root for him when he’s so dominant. The manshine game was the last time I really liked isagi.
@10INGENIOUS6 ай бұрын
This is actually interesting too because I'm the opposite. With Yuji, whom I also love his progression, it's harder for me to root for him when he loses so many times especially after he gets a victory. His *moments* truly do feel small when I know we will be hit with another event of loss or suffering. Will still always love Yuji though (especially with the recent chapters)

Something I find that Blue Lock handles better as a story is the filler. JJK gives you no time to breath between action, but with Blue Lock you sort of get that. Even if it’s just with getting character backstory, or flashbacks. It allows time to breathe and take in the story that’s going on, as well as letting us really and truly care about the characters. JJK needed that. Story wise.

I know it was very brief, but you pointed out 'Juujika no Rokunin' as a trashy manga. Would it be possible for you to elaborate more on why you think so? I have issues understanding undertones and characters in stories, so I'd really like to hear your thoughts on what makes it low quality so I can look out for them better I guess lol. Your character analysis videos have been very enjoyable, and they point out things I've failed to notice by myself. Hope to see more from you soon.

As someone who read the manga, the criticism i could give are, the author gives the mc toooo much bullshit and it feels out of nowhere like suffering for the sake of suffering, and the villains are cartoonishly evil, unrealistically sadistic in a realistic setting. Idk man it reminds me of bad writing Korean manhwas that depicts revenge, but with extra mc suffering each arc.
@datboi18616 ай бұрын
@crazyfam2261 okay, that makes sense. I read the manga a bit and stopped it for this reason - it was getting too edgy for no reason. Lots of rape and cults and torture. I did like some parts of it though, like the fight against the guy that killed his grandfather. I recently saw a video about this manwha called Shark. The way the creator talked about it made it clear that it's approach in handling characters was far different from the typical revenge manwha. I guess I'm just trying to figure out how to recognize when a story does it "well" and when it doesn't. Thanks again bro.

crazy how Isagi is someone who never was really destined to be insane from the jump and kinda just became top tier in BL through his skills and training. Meanwhile Itadori is the literal nephew of “the strongest sorcerer in history”, planned and executed by Kenjaku (another top tier), trained by “the strongest sorcerer of today” and others, and has an innate talent for things like causing black flashes and using shrine and RCT, yet only became crazy in the more recent chapters where everyone but him is mostly cooked.

what if sukuna said kenjaku does the grossest things because kenjaku is his father and tengen his mother. So when kenjaku took sukuna's twin soul that his yujis father then he slept with yuji's father in order to conceive yuji. That's the best explanation I have since why would sukuna say the grossest things sukuna himself is gross so if kenjaku wasnt his father how is sleeping with sukuna twin gross to sukuna what is gross to sukuna would be kenjaku sleeping with his own son.

12:24 i completely agree. I think the story and isagi's character arc could benefit if he lost a match in the neo-egoist league. I think he should've lost in the ubers match to emphasis isagi's shortcomings and bastard's lack of team chemistry compared to the ubers. that way, there's motivation for isagi to improve and set up stakes for the pxg match.
@rafaibrahim63455 ай бұрын
I agree but honestly he should only lose to pxg narrative wise. The only time Isagi ever lost was to barou 1 time and to rin 2 times. But that barous one was literally 11v1v1v... And for both rin losses isagi put his team to maximum use to his full capabilitys and still lost. Narratively even if isagi goes all out rin is just better that's how it's always been. The only reason why rin is on fraudwatch rn cause literally the best passer on the team don't wanna past to him vs isagi basically having a whole team minus kaiser and ness. And it's not like rin can't dribble through them all it's literally proven in 1 panel that he can it's just that too many numbers and too much time is taken so everyone is on defense against rin while 3 metavision watchers gatekeep him.
