The 62 is coming out great Matt!!! Yes lacquer paints go on thinner and will show everything. Love the color and twisted look coming off the line. Nice blue.

Nice additional prep work on the body. It looks really good without the chrome and smoothed out. The color choice is good too. This one should build up really nice and a be a good example of a street machine. Thanks for sharing.

If you watched Steve Magnante's KZbin channel or his 4 episode Motortread show, he shows how he built cars that looked like they were leaving hard off the line. An keep practicing with that candy paint from alclad.

Hah! I feel your pain, Matthew! The number of times I've pulled an Icarus and flown a bit too close to the sun when trying to perfect the good are enough that I should certainly know better by now. I just chalk it up to learning. I either succeed or I learn how to succeed for next time!

Thats exactly what i do cut out all my parts off the tree because if you paint them on the tree after you cut them a little white will show then you have to possibly sand to smooth out a touch up. Also i learned to test fit everything first after building the 69 GTO . This car looks good nice color i like the idea of the wheel stand

Awesome Matthew! That "Hard Launch" look is exactly what I'm doing on a AMT '57 Chevy kit. So cool that I'm not alone in doing this, lol. Cant wait to see the finished car. I do have a driver to put in mine tho... havent thought about blacking the windows.

@@modelcarvideos5829 Lots of Hotrodders use them on streetrods, to comply with tread requirements. My '41 sedan will be a mild custom rod. With an 8 BA engine. Bored .030 over, for a 243 cid engine. The steering wheel is out of a '48 Ford. I repaired it myself the guages are custom relettered. And the plastic knobs on the dash will be replaced with brass drawer pulls. The visors are hobby grade thin plywood. I have other ideas to work on. With this project. The frame currently sits on 5.60x 15 front tires. And 700x16 rears.

maybe you should've laid a few more coates and it might have evened out. Especially after clear. You may have given up too soon. funny how a color looks great on one car and not so much on another. the second color looks good on an audi or a bmw but I preferred the alclad blue on this particular car

I THINK THAT PAINT IS JUST TOO THIN FOR BODIES. SO IS THE AKmetals, that come in similar colors, paints which worked by accident for me once. I don't mean THIN like consistency, I mean thin when it hits the surface. Any tool or sanding marks will show with AK and all clad
