Blue Oyster Cult - Apple Bottom Jeans (1976)

I've taken a slight detour from 90's rock and ventured back to 1976 to bring you an early, unreleased version of Blue Oyster Cult's classic hit from when they were trying to break into the dance music scene. ;-)
Growing up, hearing BOC's "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" always made me feel a sort of yester-yearning for an era of rock music that I wasn't even alive for. It's a bit of a departure from the Tool and Alice In Chains versions of Apple Bottom Jeans that I most recently uploaded, but I really wanted to pay homage to great rock music that influenced me from various decades, and give it equal treatment under the universal laws of shitposting and meme-ification. :-P

Or actually, go watch the visual album playlist on my page for PRIME: Metroid Reimagined, which I just released a couple weeks ago. Our team on that visual album was 8 people and the total project took 5 years. Deeply imaginative, creative art takes a lot more time and energy than most people think in an era of content oversaturation. 😉 I spend the majority of my time making serious, high pressure art. So sometimes it's nice to just do a goofy meme song that only takes a week or two rather than several years. And even then, it's much more work than one might think to creatively overlay the concepts and lyrics from one song in a completely different style as another, and then accurately emulate the vocals and production style of the original, and produce a video that looks aesthetically identical to the style of design, typefaces, layout, and production of that era... the fact that it looks and sounds unoriginal is actually the hard part. 🙃

Robert, I hear your concern and totally agree. I think the main difficulty in fitting on even more sweatpants is that Shawty is already wearing a pair of jeans, boots with fur, Reeboks, *and* a pair of baggy sweatpants (presumably over top of the jeans, which I assume are tight-fitting).
