When I was growing up there 60 years ago I was told that before it was called Johnson City or even Johnson’s Depot it was called Blue Plum. Glad they have a Blue Plum Festival now.JC is huge now compared to when I lived there.Nice area and ETSU is a great school where you can get a degree in Story Telling and Blue Grass Music.

Some of those buildings I recognize 56 years later. King Creek and Brush Creek came together under Giant Food Market. I worked there four years. Now it is all gone. But the sign on Commerce Street remains, although with different wording from the Giant #4 days.
