The story was odd though; we were playing as a dreaming girl the whole time?

Jamesie Walters A little clarification about the ending, albeit late; the protagonist (or antagonist, depending on how you look at it) is really Mae, the other playable character. In her arc, you’re pretty much just destroying everything for the hell of it. Val is one of the people trying to stop her (and is the third boss) so when you play as her, everything is instead some kinda twisted dream where she’s acting like Mae. The story is still a little vague, but I’m pretty sure that’s the gist of it.

That was a pretty nice run and quite enjoyable to watch. This shmup seems well-designed too.

The timing at 17:20 👌🔥🥰🥰 What a beautiful run! Blue Revolver is my favorite shmup -- the style and music and feel is perfect to me -- but I can only get as far as Level 4 on Hyper, so seeing your near-perfect run with so many creative 64x combos while listening to this beautiful sound track is just a massive treat. Have you played since the 2020 patch that added a new OST? It's really grown on me, and if you enjoy it I'd love to see another run played to the new OST :)

In the last video you did, you battled the TLB without losing a ship or using a bomb. That didn't happen here, but you did a good job of the run. As the description said, Stage 3 could use some improvements. Overall, nice work.

Man, I hope this game gets tons of exposure. I wish games like these were released on console more often so everyone could get into it. Also, anyone find it funny that there's a Crimson Clover and Blue Revolver? What's next? Golden Galaxy? ;) The primary colors shmup collection needs to be a thing.

I don't know if it's just me getting a little bit better at shmups, but most of this didn't look too bad for being the highest difficulty. Of course, the scoring part is a whole different can of worms that I wouldn't want to touch with a 20-foot pole... The game itself looks awesome though.
@Vulcapyro8 жыл бұрын
That's about right; the difficulty isn't blistering. But it's incredibly well-designed and playing the game well transitions into scoring very naturally.

***** I mostly play Touhou, but believe me, I'm aware of how much bullet speed matters. Even Touhou has some patterns that require quick reflexes on the higher difficulties, you know.
@hoppefrosk8 жыл бұрын
***** I know this. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm not saying I can replicate what Pruns is doing right here, I'm just saying that it looks like even I could clear this with some practice, which I know is *not* the case for many other shmups with the same "style" of bullet patterns. And really, saying you can easily clear Touhou Lunatic modes, as if that doesn't apply to others, doesn't mean much. I enjoy Touhou games, that doesn't mean I don't play other shmups. I was making the observation that this doesn't look all that hard for a highest difficulty *compared to similar shumps* not compared to Touhou specifically.
@hoppefrosk8 жыл бұрын
***** Well, sure. It was bothering me though, how you brought up Touhou as if my avatar image being Touhou related made me unqualified to talk about the difficulty of other bullet hells (or at least Blue Revolver). There's so much hate towards Touhou by much of the bullet hell / STG community that you kinda came off as condescending, and you still kinda are. I don't really need you to educate me on bullet hell games, just trust me on that. True, I haven't played Blue Revolver (yet), so there's bound to be details I don't pick up on from just watching a video, I know that, but my first comment was just an observation. I was just saying that this doesn't look too bad for being the highest difficulty in the game.
@hoppefrosk8 жыл бұрын
***** Alright, I might've taken it the wrong way. There's no question that Touhou is the most prolific series of bullet hell games, after all... But my point was that even though I play Touhou quite a bit, I know better than to assume a game is easy just because it has fewer bullets. I know the later parts of this would completely wreck me, not to mention the TLB... But I figured the highest difficulty would take it up another notch, even compared to this. I was just surprised at how many of the patterns I could reliably read and keep track of, is all. Despite this being the highest difficulty. I guess all my practice at Clownpiece Lunatic has made me a little better at reading quicker bullets (I swear, those nonspells are painful, at least her spellcards aren't *too* bad. Hell Eclipse is definitely easier on Lunatic than Normal).
