My wife and I really enjoy watching your adventures, especially the ones that you have produced with Paul & Anthony, you all seem to get on and it makes cruising so much easier, the music you choose to accompany your videos is perfect, it makes for great escapism, Thank You 🌹

That's so lovely to hear John! We really did have the best time cruising with the boys, and laughed at the point in our first video with them that we would be together 'for a week or so', which actually turned into 7 months! I'm glad you enjoy the music, it's one of my favourite parts of the editing process, choosing just the right music for the mood 😊

Nice peaceful Vvlog and we have a small town named Macclesfield here in Adelaide South Australia, a beautiful place about 30 minutes drive south of us, OH looks like you are wearing a Fran scraf, they arelovely arn't they, I have one just love it, yes I also watch Narrowboat unlocked and Floating our boat. Fran and Rich were the first people that I started watching on utube in 2019.... lovely vvlog guys thank you.

I never knew there was a Macclesfield in Australia, but we do now! I absolutely love my Fran scarf. Pete surprised me with it last Christmas and I surprised him with one of Rich’s paintings! Floating Our Boat and Narrowboat Life Unlocked were two of our favourite channels to watch when we were planning this new life aboard, and when we met them all in real life we got on just as wonderfully as we thought we would, and have become the best of friends 😊❤️

Seeing that narrowboat 'Why Hurry' that you passed reminded me. If you ever cruise down the River Nene (off the Grand Union Canal at Northampton), then continue through the Middle Levels and onto the River Great Ouse and are pootling along between Ely and Cambridge, you can moor up at a pub called 'The Five Miles from Anywhere, No Hurry'! Of course you might prefer to reach the Great Ouse by crossing The Wash which is a much bigger adventure!! Great vlog as usual 👍❤
@onedaymoreaboard10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip Jill! We will definitely be cruising in that direction at some point in the future. That's a fabulous name for a pub! We cruised all the way down the River Witham to Boston 2 summers ago, but turned around and came back again instead of daring to cross the wash. We've watched some videos and I don't think it's something we want to try any time soon! 😂
@jillosler935310 ай бұрын
@@onedaymoreaboard😅 I wouldn't fancy crossing The Wash either - even with the necessary pilot on board! The Nene is long with many locks and not that many mooring places and the Middle Level is thankfully quite short but it's worth it when you reach the Great Ouse. Though tidal it is mostly a gentle river.

Absolutely loved cruising the Macc. We did the Cheshire ring from Uplands Marina ( Anderton) right round with a stop off at Bugsie Basin for a couple of days. Loved every minute of it all . The house with the giraffes goes back to when we were there in 2009 ( cant believe it was that long ago I really can't) Brings back such happy memories , thank you so much

So glad we could bring back those lovely memories for you. Wow, the giraffes have been there since at least 2009! They are certainly one of the more unusual features we have seen on our travels! Love the care free life you have built and worked hard for. Enjoy. P.s. still love those black & white shots !

Just wanted to thank you for putting the date and map of your travels on each video. We are planning a 4 week trip for the spring of 2025 to explore if we want to buy a NB and cruise for a few years. Following all the popular utube channels, trying to learn as much as we can. Really enjoy your vlogs and the way they are presented. Thanks again.

Belated happy birthday to Hamish. We're the pups as interested in squirrels when you all lived on land? You must feel very well protected by their diligence in guard duty. It was fun to see the whimsy of the wolf on the roof and the giraffes in the garden. How fun. Was the music at the end your son's? Be well until next time. Leigh
@onedaymoreaboard10 ай бұрын
Hi Leigh! We actually lived in Singapore before Texas (working in the oil and gas industry), and Jasper and Hamish used to be on monkey watch from our front window. The neighbourhood monkeys would sit on the walls and gate pillars taunting the dogs! When we moved to Texas they made do with squirrels, the odd possum and the dreaded skunk! That was an unexpected and not so pleasant welcome to Texas 6 weeks in!! We downsized to a new build house in League City after our kids had flown the nest, and there was a distinct lack of squirrels in the yard there, so Poppy is getting her fix by boat in the UK now after looking out for them on narrowboat vlogs! That music at the end is a band called Ten Towers 'Time On Our Side', but its very similar in style to Alex's music. It's easier using already licensed music to avoid copyright issues, so I pay for a subscription to Epidemic Sound, which is so worth it as they have a huge library! 😊

@onedaymoreaboard funny thing happened regarding a squirrel a while back here at my complex near the Galleria. I pulled into my parking space directly in front of a stairway. I needed to walk by that stairway to get home. Usually a squirrel would run away as soon as I got near. Not this chubby little guy. He sat there on a step staring at me. Odd. I then thought 'as soon as I open my car door, he'll run'. He did not. Instead, he continued to stare me down. Weird again. From the car I called a friend, who hates squirrels (I think they're adorable.) She agreed this was all weird behavior. So I then decided that surely if I stepped out of the car to head in the opposite direction, he'd run. Nope again! By bow I was thinking that the odd behavior belied sickness. At that point he jumped up on the stair rail.... all the better, I thought, to jump down on my neck and bite me I thought. No way was I going to walk by that squirrel, as this had now gone on for almost 25 minutes!!!! Finally he decided to run off...and I swear I could see him snickering at what he'd accomplished. It was truly strange.

I like the dated vlogs as well. I have a tendency to forget the vlogs aren't from now. 😊 Of course, then I see the blue Morning Star and remember. March tends to make you think spring but it can be a terrible month. Sometimes they come in like a 🦁and goes out like a 🦁as well. No 🐑 at all. It certainly was pretty before the weather turned.

Good to know that the dates are helping, even our long term viewers like yourself. I know it can be confusing, especially to new people to the channel, who don't know any of our back story, and why we are so behind! We has some beautiful cruising weather didn't we. Blue skies and sunshine always make us feel better, and that feeling of spring when you see daffodils. We will be turning onto the Peak Forest Canal shortly in the videos, and there was an abundance of lambs in the fields 🐑😊
