Hey today, I'm going to show you how to set the scale on your drawing. When you have multiple view ports, maybe you have a planet profile on the same sheet. You're not sure how to set up the scale for that. Alright, so let's jump right in.
So you can see on this drawing, we have plan on the bottom view here and profile view on the top. Now I'm going to set my almost scale by hitting calibrate here. And I got ice scale bar right here. I'm going to track from zero to 40 sexually. It should be two. So I'm gonna change this to two inches, three feet.
And it gives me two inches equals 40 feet. It's the same as one. And she calls 20 feet. Now, if I hit em to draw, Marco can see that is 37 feet. Right. But problem is my profile view actually has different scale at least vertically. So how do I do that? Well, I'm going to come over here and click on the viewport, but out of viewport and I'm going to address.
Rate around my report. And actually now I can actually select a separate wide-scale for that. So I could come in here and type in one, she goes 20 feet, which I know it is, but I'm going to show you how to actually calibrate. I want to click from 40 plus 50 to 41 plus a fee that should be a hundred feet and there should be five inches, 100.
Okay. And then same here. I'm going to calibrate from 60 to 70 and that should be two inches, 10 feet. And well, there we go. So now when I measure from. Here to here, I get 200 feet and measure from here to here. I got 20 feet. Exactly what I want. Now. It really interesting thing is you can actually stretch the viewport, after you've you've made it.
So I'll show you my, what I'm trying to show you. If I start eight measurement on the outside of the view. The outside of the VP for it will give me 160 100.
Now, if I said on the inside and actually I'm going to just to the inside so I can have a similar measurement, the 1 43 up from here. Cause there gives me. When you saw, I gave you 35 feet. So that's because I have a different vertical scale now, but click on my viewport and I drag it just outside. Now it changes to 35.
So if either end of your measurement is within the viewport, it will activate the viewport. Yeah, so I can do both sides or I could do one side and the second both sides start outside the viewport, then it reverts to the scale of the rest of the drawing. So hope that makes sense.
And I hope that helps you. Thanks.
