Wow I can’t believe the in ground garden has gone back to grass/field. I know I like raised bed gardening. You definitely can add more plants into a smaller space. Your compost area is over flowing, you will be very luck in the spring with the compost.

Hello Ryan! Good harvest of watermelon. Do you have to worry about rabbits or deer eating your fruit trees. I guess with having a dog it would help. Thanks for taking us along while you did some havesting and clean up. Hope Cara is feeling better. Look forward to the next video.💜

Hi Sylvia. Thankfully the deer and rabbits have not seemed to both the garden much at all. Time will tell though if these fruit trees are their dessert of choice haha

Not a bad harvest! The watermelon did well. 💖💖💖 With in ground garden the trick is finding a way to combat weeds and grass growing up in it and choking out the plants. A good way is to spend a year preparing the ground by spreading heavy black plastic or tarp over the fresh tilled ground for a summer and "cook" it to kill the grass and weeds seeds. Cog Hill Farm did that over the summer and now they have a weed free plot to plant the fall garden.😉💖 I generally mulch my pumpkin patch until the vines take over. I do get some weed growth by the end of the year, but that usually gets tilled back in to compost. 🤔😉💖

Hi Meg! We definitely probably should have planned better for that. We have good success with using the black plastic cook method for around the house for the landscaping beds this past year. It took some trial and error on our part at first though too haha. We first just used landscape pins which was worthless, then rocks, (still not heavy enough) Finally sand bags did the trick. We chased many black tarps across the field haha 😂

I would suggest next year doing the raised bed garden for the vegetables and spend a good year preparing the ground for a large in-ground garden. Take your time, and you'll have a nice large garden in a couple of years to be proud of! 💖💖💖

What a awesome watermelon harvest !!!! We have bin looking into nitrogen fixing plants around our trees like radishes beans and things like that you should read about it extra food in a simple place and beans will trellis up to kinda space saver and fertilizer at the same time 😊 if you leave the radish and beans they fertilize for you but you can still pick the good ones lol great video Ryan 🤙🏻
