Thanks for the update. Glad everyone is doing well. You know I was thinking that you could build a bunk house or small cabins and you could charge people to stay on your little dude ranch, they could learn about homesteading, goats, cheese making, soap making and your husband and children could lead one hike a week to all the historical and neat places he knows about. The people would have to help with the chores and projects on your ranch along with the gardens. I would sign up. Anyway I enjoyed the video and look forward to the next one. Have a great week.

Awww.. sweet Lodi, So happy to be out! IF its any consolation, we drank the milk, we did leave her babies on her and treated her the same as the other girls. I would most defiantly put her on the milk test Crystal, let that girl earn her stars! Im hoping beyond hope she gives you a couple doelings, My Eli had three and I wasnt thinking ahead and sold two of them.. I REGRET that decision so much! I do have one of her girls (she gave me three) and believe it or not, we are on baby watch today :) Good luck, go with your gut and Enjoy this time with Dawn!

I say that Dawn’s milk will be fine. If not milk her for the chickens, dogs, and kitties to consume. I really don’t think the milk will be bad for consumption. She deserves her milk stars for sure.❤️❤️❤️ Lodi is so cute and I can’t wait to see her bred the next go around, the right way.... (little miss sneaky doe she is... hahahaa) plus it seems she got the Tita (local term here meaning she is very spunky and naughty). Lacy and Dawn are sisters from another mister. So nice to see them hanging out and being companion goats to eachother. Ana, Ana, Ana...... I am so happy people are PMing you with their love for Ana she may have to go on a diet or she may have to have a date with Mr. Everest (if they are not related) the next go around. She has only been with Lucky. So maybe one of the other boys will peak her interest. Whatever you all decide, to sell, keep, or otherwise. Dawn's milk is the same as any other goat, I wouldn't worry about drinking it. However, I do think it might be nice to dry her up and let her put all that energy into staying as healthy as possible for as long as possible.

Three things for you to consider: One, use Dawn's milk for soap. Two, make some liver and heart dog treats, in a baking sheet make them into one inch squares and they are more healthy than dog treats from store. Three put some compost on the fields were the goats have been. Great video!!!!

I do the one day milk test. There is a 305 day milk test that milk is weighed daily and recorded. Harder to earn one day milk test but beneficial to have 305 on record.
