American collectors Bill Pinch and Mark Feinglos were titans among Tsumeb collectors. Their collections were the stuff of legends and their experiences and knowledge could fill an encyclopedia. Fortunately for us, they understood the power of their collections and made arrangements, upon their passing, that large parts of their collections would become part of the Harvard Collection housed at the Mineralogical and Geological Museum at Harvard University.
In this presentation, museum Curatrix Dr. Raquel Alonso-Perez, Malcom Southwood and Prof. Frank Keutsch share with us the depth of the collections and how they fit in with Harvard's existing Tsumeb collection. More importantly, we get to see how the new, expanded collection will help collectors and researchers worldwide understand Tsumeb better and how that information will be available to the public.
The Tucson Fine Mineral Gallery Speaker Series is an on-going series of professional mineral and gemstone-related talks that are held LIVE every year at the Tucson Fine Mineral Gallery. These programs are streamed LIVE during the actual events. Shortly after the Tucson shows, these LIVE recordings are removed, edited and reposted to BlueCap Productions' KZbin channel located at: / @bluecapproductions . All of these talks are recorded and presented to the mineral-collecting community courtesy of BlueCap Productions and the Tucson Fine Mineral Gallery. Visit the Tucson Fine Mineral Gallery website (tucsonfinemine...) for a complete list of all recorded presentations.
