Drives me nuts when companies leave the heel unsharpened. It just doesn't make sense to me. Thanks JB

Thanks again for the stickers. Glad you like what I sent :) The field strip stuff intrigues me. It's cool to see. Great review.

No problem Jade! The field strip technology is pretty cool but the knife is a little overpriced for me.

You're right. I did buy it for the field strip technology. Thanks for the review.

That's the reason I bought the green one. I was sold when they first advertised the field strip technology. Thanks again Bruce

Really liked the review. Agree with you on the price of the knife. Unless you're in the military or are really hard on your knives I don't see where the field strip matters all that much. Maybe if you spend alot of time in very dusty environment. Keep the reviews coming.
@BlueCollarSurvival5 жыл бұрын
For me it works great as a fishing knife due to the sand and dust I get in my knives. Luckily it doesn't take away from the knife in anyway except the price. Thanks Rick

I feel like feild strip should have been with a thumb stud and not a flipper.
@BlueCollarSurvival5 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. It's so easy to accidentally unlock the pivot when using the flipper.

Different. Great review. Price is up there alright.

Love the technology but ya that price throws me off. If you can find a deal on one jump on it that's what I did.

Don't think I would use the field strip feature but never know what you might get into. The price is high for aus8. Great review !! Thanks for the look at these Justin

I don't know what CRKT's deal is with not upgrading their steels. With all the great designs they have if they upped their steel game, their sales would sky rocket. Thanks Rodney

Wich has better steel and more stronger constraction??? Is edc good knife??
@BlueCollarSurvival4 жыл бұрын
I would honestly say the black AUS8 version has a stronger overall construction with slightly better steel and it's cheaper than the other one.
@wolfmix-3734 жыл бұрын
@@BlueCollarSurvival but Black doesnt have aus 8 it has 1.4116 Steel, as i know maybe im wrong So it is not necesarry to overpay for aluminium version?? With plastic handle woukd be better choice?
@BlueCollarSurvival4 жыл бұрын
You're right. The AUS8 version is the metal one. The AUS8 is slightly better than the 1.4116 steel. Honestly it really depends on how's much you wanna pay. I have the Aluminum handle version because I like how it looks more than the black version.
@wolfmix-3734 жыл бұрын
@@BlueCollarSurvival is aluminium version really better for almost 40$ ,hard to decide wich to buy) very hard)
@BlueCollarSurvival4 жыл бұрын
No. If you go just by materials it's not worth the extra $40. The only reason I bought the aluminum version was because I got a deal and paid the same as the other one. If I was to pay full price I would definitely go with the cheaper version.

I really like the aluminum one, and the Field Strip Technology would be super handy! But, the steel for the price makes it seem a little over priced to me. Hopefully, as the newness of the technology fades, the price will come down a little and/or they will do some sprint runs with slightly higher end steel like D2, BD1, AUS-10, etc. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, just a steel that will hold an edge well enough to be able to do some real field work (skinning an animal, etc.) without having to stop and touch up the edge. It seems to me marketed toward sportsmen, so I would think this aspect would be greatly appreciated by them.
@BlueCollarSurvival5 жыл бұрын
Agreed 100%! A knife of this size would greatly benefit from a little better steel. Like you said this knife has great appeal for sportsmen and no one likes to sharpen their knives everytime you take it out. Thanks Paul

Just got this knife and was extremely disappointed within a couple minutes opening it. Flicking the knife open just a few times caused my finger to be extremely painful. The jimping is extremely sharp as well as all of the edges on the knife. After studying the knife for a while I realized it was both poor design and shoddy craftsmanship. The good news is that it was fixable with about half an hour of grinding away all the sharp jimping and edges with my Dremel. But it's like no one had actually ever used the knife during testing. I really like being able to take it apart though, so now that I fixed it, it's a great knife. Sad that I needed to do so much work to get it to that point.

I own the Slacker. Another Onion field strip knife that was recently released. Lightweight and sleek. If you ever get a chance to handle one, I'd be interested to hear what you think. Thanks for the video!

I'm hoping the slacker will come around in one of the pass around groups. I'm really intrigued by it because it's smaller than the other field strip technology knives. Thanks brother
