This was really an awesome explanation with a great focus on the "Recreational Fisherman". Here in the Northeast USA (Maine), we have the Recreational Bluefin (72 inches). When you wet a line here, you just never know what you are gonna get hooked to. Learned some good skills/techniques on what to include for a set-up. Your clear spot-on presentation style is greatly appreciated. Eliminating the fluff and ego, with a bit of Kiwi accent, what more could a viewer ask for.

Do you run light gauge hooks at all for SBT?
@BuilttoFish3 жыл бұрын
Nah mate, no need. Tuna have soft mouths so they are easy to hook You are better off running heavy gauge hooks for the extra strength and they will be less likely to tear out.

How do you get tuna to feed when sunning or only feeding on creel
@Demofish932 жыл бұрын
What hooks are you using? I assume heavy not light gauge?

Interesting aye, guess they are more spread out than most people think. Glad to hear you guys still pick em up at slower speeds - might save me a few bucks on fuel!

We hooked a giant blue fin yesterday. 30 miles out of San Francisco golden gate . Was about 5 ft long we fought it for an hr finally loosing him next to the boat . What an experience
