Bluefin Tuna Mission (Part 1)

I’ve been fishing the Condor for over 20 years. What you guys experienced on that trip was Pacific Bluefin being Bluefin. I’ve had trips with great fishing and trips like yours with no fish, but I’ve never had a “bad trip” on that boat.

Yeah completely agree! Bluefin fishing at its finest haha. Slow fishing is slow fishing and I get that just as well as anyone! What I was bummed about was the crew now being willing to answer questions I had about gear, techniques, and things of that nature! And even then, may have been after a string of trips and they were tired. Just sharing the experience I had!

What boat were you on? I hate it too when they won't answer simple questions. Communication is especially important when things are not going well.

you're wasting your time on those boats. if you want to catch a real bluefin, you need to hop on a boat in New england. The season reopens tomorrow and the fishing will be good. say the word and i'll get you on a boat that catches a fish off the coast of Maine. i fish for them but i've become bored with it. I prefer a 2 lb trout on a fly over a 500lb tuna on a 130. i'll hook you up with the local boys on a trip, they wont take money but i'm sure a few drinks at the bar would make them happy. i'm serious.

we go out west every winter to fish in oregon for steelhead but with the mask BS, we're considering going elsewhere. you seem to know what you're doing round pyramid lake. 😜
