Love the videos. In Straya, that cut of beef is called Chuck. It can be slow roasted but is predominately used for stewing, so long and slow. That piece of real hard yellow is called Paddy Whack. If you take that out when the chuck is whole and hit someone with it, you soon realise why it is called Paddy Whack. Chuck comes from the neck and does a lot of work, hence why it is a low and slow cut of beef with a lot of flavour

I think that eel is actually a Greater Siren. At first i thought it was an amphiuma, but their legs are smaller and have only one or two toes. You can easily tell by their gills, if it has frilly gills that are on the outside of its body, it's a Siren. If it only has a gill slit without frilly gills, its an Amphiuma. ✌🏼

Those are "Center Cut Chuck steaks". They're actually very good. Next time try and find one that weighs about 3 - 4 pounds and cook it medium and enjoy. It used to be a really cheap priced cut of meat then folks realized it was super tender when cooked properly and the price went from $1.99LB to $5.99LB or higher. The camp site looks so inviting and fun to be at. All this outdoor quality time with your boys is will mold them into outstanding young men. Great Job Gabe, you are doing it all right.

The first cuts off the chuck are the best because it’s where they break the rib-eye off. I’ve cut meat my whole life and chuck eye delmonicos are some of my fave. Another under appreciated steak are skirt steaks. Lil chewy but some of the most flavorful, esp the inside skirt.

The steak is cut from the Chuck, which comes right after the prime ribs. Great flavor, though tougher meat as it does more work - like walking. If it were'nt cut into steaks that piece would be around 5 inches thick. Typically used for stew.

I read a comment that said you don't care when people comment. I know its a lot of info to follow but apply this info in future vids and let us know you follow comments lol Always enjoy your videos. Both amphiumas and sirens are short-legged, dark-colored, slippery creatures, but distinguishing one from the other is easy. Sirens have only two of the seemingly useless legs, whereas amphiumas have four. In addition, sirens have external, visible gills; amphiumas have openings alongside the head that lead to internal gills.

Those are 7-bone steaks. Comes from a 7-bone roast that is a cross cut of the shoulder blade so it's cut from the chuck. The cross cut shoulder blade looks like a number 7, so it's called a 7 bone. It used to be cheap before Biden came along. The cut has the bone and sometimes a large piece of tendon so it scares people who don't know any better, that's why it is sometimes cheap. Tastes great like most chuck cuts but it can be tough.

Loved your video as always, Gabe. And I hate that you lost your wallet. My brother and I capsized the canoe we were in going down some Class 3 rapids, and I lost my tackle box, wallet and car keys, which I shouldn't have been carrying in the first place. It sucks. But I'm also writing to comment on how smart Jake is. First he said he thought those cuts of beef were brisket, which I think they were. But I don't know enough to be certain. Secondly, the "eel" is actually an amphibian known as a lesser siren. So when Jake said it was a salamander, he was right. Smart guy, your son. And your entire family are the kind of people I'd like to take to lunch someday. Keep up the good work, brother.
