Years ago, my husband and I would pack up our cast iron skillets, charcoal, potatoes, onions, coating mixture, and some saved bacon grease and head for a favorite fishing location. We would fish for bluegill and do a catch, clean, and cook right there on the bank. Sometimes we would wade and walk the river for bass or pike as well. Those were my favorite times! When I watch your fishing videos, they take me back to years gone by. My husband passed in 1989 and I haven't done anything like it since. Thank you Daniel for making me feel like I'm right there in the boat with you guys. I love how you have instilled in the boys the catch and release. Too many people don't and waste the fish. There will never be big bass or bluegill if you don't let them have the chance to grow up. Don't feel bad, I've lost my share of lures in brush piles and lilly pads too, but that's where the fish like to hide. I hope you feel better Houston! Love you all bunches!!❤❤

Hey Daniel, the 2nd bluegill in the bucket was a COPPERNOSE HYBRID!!! If you have a few it will strengthen the genetics of your pond my brother!!! THE OKLAHOMA STATE RECORD BLUEGILL, 2.6 AND 3/4 LB 12.75 INCHES LONG!!😮😮😮😮😮 Hope Houston is feeling better. ❤ Little man was looking ruff!😢😢

Daniel, have you considered using one of your solar generators to drive a 12 volt water pump to drive a water / oxygen spray into your farm pond? The water pump would spray water into the pond and force oxygen into the pond. It should help to cut down on the green slime and moss and help to keep your pond oxygen level up. You could use a set of solar panels to keep the generator charged up and use a 50 foot hose to force oxygen-water out into the middle of the pond. You could tie the end of the hose to a cinder block and lower the block and hose down into the pond.

I caught and cleaned 73 big bluegill off beds in our lake. Came back the next day " not fishing" and a whole new group of big males came up on the beds. Won't take anymore bull gills off the lake. I always release the females with eggs. Have a great time on the pond. Been doing this for 30 years and still have huge gills. Don't ever take out all the big males....genetics matter. Give em "heck" guys. Love the videos!!!!

I fished with my dad on shore and out of a small boat. Trout fishing using night crawlers I had pulled out of the yard the night before. Fun memories for me, and definitely will be for Houston.😊

Bluegill are the best tasting fish ever. As a kid I would go before sun up to a big farm pond and catch huge bluegill. Take them home and Dad would help me clean them and fry them for breakfast. I had a great childhood. Country freedom.

Bluegill are my favorite fish to catch and eat. A lot of folks don't like them because of how boney they are, but my dad taught me how to dress them to get rid of the ribcage. Cut the head off then cut behind the cloaca all the way up to the back bone and finally cut along the back bone, removing the entire ribcage. You aren't losing very much meat. You're making them safer to eat because all the little lose bones are gone.

Years ago I was crappie fishing and I caught a bluegill the size of dinner plate. Largest one I've ever seen. In a private pond. It had huge hybrid crappie and he was as big as any of them

Saying a Prayer for Houston cause I am just getting done with the yucky tummy !!! Sore throat and just not feeling the best !!! But Danny fishing is the best thing in the world !!! Just to rest and sleep that is the best for HOUSTON !!! Tomorrow is another Day for you all !!! But you can freeze those panfish for later use !!! I fry them in a pan then put a egg on top of it and scramble together it is what Grandpa taught me he learnt it from France !!!

That’s what we call a perfectly cooked tortilla. My sister-in-law and I love our tortillas cooked crispy. Only I would cook both sides of the tortilla the first side for a bit and flip to the other side till crisp! Js

That was a nice trip to the pond on the mini-pontoon. That left handed filet knife works well. Bluegills are hard to beat when done on the grill. I hope Houston gets to feeling better.

My son was about Houston's age when he had a section of his omentum that had twisted and become infarcted(spelling?) Aka. It died. He had a stomach ache that came and went for 2 weeks then presented as an appendicitis.. Only found it with exploratory surgery.. Prayers Houston is ok..

Looks like you two are having fun. There's a lot of folks where I live that have fun fishing for crappie. Lake Weiss here in Cherokee County AL is known as the crappie capital. We're about an hour south of Ft. Payne, AL. I'm sure you two would have a big time if you had a chance to fish for them.

Those were monsters! I’m sorry Houston hasn’t been feeling well. My kids and I have been sick recently. It started off kinda like the flu but worsened very rapidly, and then GI symptoms started. Pains/cramps, and nauseous were the worst. It came and went like Houston. There was vomiting but not a lot. Loose bowels were a pretty big problem for a few days. I hope he’s doing better soon.
