BLUEGILL Fishing With a Cane Pole Along a Riverbank!! (Catch Clean Cook)!!

Bluegill has always been my favorite fish to eat and catch. Pound for pound one of the hardest fighting fish thee is. One of my fondest memories was when I was about 12 or 13. A bounce of families from our church use to go camping together. All of us kids wend down to the lake and probably caught over 100 small bluegill and cleaned them. Then our mothers got the grease hot and cooked them up for everyone. That was 45 years or more ago and still feels like it was yesterday. 🤤

Enjoyed watching! Fins are one my favorite parts of frying up panfish, too, but I gotta say that as good as stumpknockers are, crappie is the king of the panfish! LOL Stay Safe!

Stump knocker as you called them are called Log Perch around my parts in KY. Very good flat head bait. They stay alive and active as long as you want to use them.

Is this the withlacoochee? My gf and I have been to river junction campground twice. The first time, all we caught was stumpknockers. We probably caught about 40 and kept a couple dozen. We found a tree submerged in the water that was loaded with giant stumpknockers. The second time, we caught mostly catfish. 5 of them. One of them was my personal best. Great place to fish.
