After the introduction, went and looked it up. No longer comes as a kit, $380 plus shipping and then to add to the pain, the software is an eye watering $500. Compared to 329 Euros for the kit (also assembled) and the software is free.

I'm just looking into matching tubes for the building of a nice amplifier . This is the first curve tracer I've seen so far. I heard you mention others . My question for you is do you have a preferred curve tracer that you like best, and if so why?

I agree. Making those cables takes too much time. I switched from crimping to soldering and it actually sped things up.

Thanks Mark. I'd like to buy this unit and just noticed the eTracer is based and sold in Taiwan. Does this unit adhere to U.S.A. electrical standards i.e. 120 volt A/C 60 Hz?

The designer of the eTracer and one who sells the board is located somewhere in Europe .. possibly Finland. I have bought his etracer board and it works fine in the US.

This sounded like an awesome idea, since I need a tube tester and love building kits. So I went to his website to see if I could order one. For $1700, I think I'll pass. I remember when a "kit" actually had kit pricing. Sheesh.
