Jack Weeks Pickin' And Grinnin'

Jack Weeks was a legendary fiddler from North Georgia. He inspired and taught many great fiddlers - Roger Everett being one of them.
Back in the early days of consumer video production he arranged for a "show" to be produced in his house with friends accompanying him. It is not bluegrass, but it is great music.
The video, like all from that era looks rough today, but having such history documented makes it priceless.

Jack Weeks was a wonderful fiddle player, old school. I saw him at the world's fair park once many years ago, I think he was very sick then with advanced COPD, but he was impressive. On this tape I like all of the tunes but I had special fun playing the two gypsy tunes, Play Fiddle Play and the one he called Old Russian song, which of coursea as Dark Eyes or Otchi Chornia. Great job Jack. RIP.

Is this the same Jack Weeks that's kind to the Mc'Daris family? If so I do believe he was my Great Uncle?? Truly would love to know. ❤️❤️

I just found this hand made VHS tape in a thrift store and bought it for a dime. I was looking for stuff to flip on ebay and thought this was a very interesting and odd one.. It's got a photo copied cover taped to an old war aviation box. Strange! If anyone is interested in having it. I'll list it for a few bucks soon.
