Marty, I’ve ashamed to say I only came across you and this wonderful channel by mistake - and I now absolutely love it. You’re an easy teacher to listen to which makes the whole exercise so much more easier. Thank you for taking the time to help your fellow creatives out with new content. So great of you. Thanks mate.

Love all your tutorials! They are awesome and this one is no exception :-) You make it all seem so easy! Just a heads up, I think there is an added step at 1:58 or a missing one at at 2:52 because the extra layer is missing. At 4:41 is there another step before brushing? or will it automatically brush a quick mask? Sorry, do not have my PS with me at the moment to try it. Anyway, Marty thank you so much for all the Tutorials!
@BLTV_Photoshop4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the "heads up". Yes, at 2:39, I neglected to mention to merge Layer 3 and Layer 2, however, at 4:41, there is no extra step - once you click the Layer Mask icon at 5:11, a layer mask of the selection will automatically be placed next to the active layer (Layer 1). 👌
@niaskywalk4 жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks, I thought the merge is what happened, but I wasn't certain! And Ok about the masking, I am looking forward to giving this a try as soon as I get to my computer :-) Thank you!

I saw a few people say something felt missing. Rewatch a few parts and had trouble completing it correctly. Wasn't able to brush over a few of my layers. Or at one instance you had one deleted and I still had one active. Not sure but really wanted to learn this technique

Are you saying that the shape of the cut-out in the lightning layer has a glow around it? The bolt, itself, should have a glow around it.
@AudricDaziel3 жыл бұрын
@@BLTV_Photoshop yes but the glow is huge as if the size is high on an outer glow...looks like a blob.

whenever I delete the layer after laso-ing the lighting I want, something goes wrong. the laso-d layer goes back to the entire lighting scene before I painted over everything... any idea what I did wrong?

At what point in the video (minute: second)? Please refer to this video in your reply. Thanks.
@blazerific3 жыл бұрын
@@BLTV_Photoshop at 2:57, when I delete the layer below it, the layer on top that is isolated and lassoed reverts back to the entire "lightning image" without any paint applied or lasso.

Something in your document is preventing it. It could be due to any number of reasons. One would have to inspect it to determine the source of the problem.
