I spilled a bunch of nail polish that splattered all over the front of my favorite white “wifebeater” shirt. I bought a bag of the little satin rosettes in mixed colors from Walmart $2.79. I sewed them all over every splatter to cover the mess. A woman in a restaurant saw it and offered me $75 for it right there. I got my boyfriend’s jacket out of the car, put it on in the ladies room & gave it to her right there. Not as cool as your ideas but it sure surprised me.

All I can say is WOW! All my favs with T-shirt yarn- fringe, ruffles, criss-crosses, ties, strings, BELL SLEEVES!..Brilliant! I've been looking for t-shirt upcycles that are easy & cute for a loong time that are more than cuts, ties, & crops for skinny bodies...some amazing stuff here. I just did one yesterday! I had a Harley Quinn t shirt I upcycled and didn’t really like the result of. Then I found a crew neck I have which I love because it’s cozy, but it has a logo on it and I don’t associate with that company or its owners anymore. I cut Harley out of the upcycled shirt, used her as a patch, and zig zag stitched it on top of the crew neck’s logo. Now I have a brand new pullover for free! (Learned that one on Orly Shani’s sweatshirt upcycle video!)

I love the idea of covering vinyl on a shirt with a design you like. I see shirts in great condition all the time even at Walmart or Target that are clearenced really low but the graphic isn't to my liking. Now I know I can still use those shirts. These are some really good ideas! T-Shirts are so comfortable but most of them are so unflattering with the boxy cut, too long length, and the crew neck. The freezer paper as a graphic transfer is a really cool trick! Who knew?

Thank you for so many ideas! A friend of mine also does bleach tie-dye. It's on my list to try. She said she also rinses them in peroxide after rinsing out the bleach because it neutrals the bleach and keeps it from continuing to eat the fabric.

An easy skirt is to cut off the sleeves/neck & run elastic thru the bottom hem to be the waist. A quick slit gets the elastic inside. I think adding extra layers with your t-shirt yarn weave/tie method would make it more accessible for larger sizes.
