The blues brothers were truly great and they had a great band!!! I don't think people realized how great they really were and the trippy thing is that even though they were actors, this worked completely!!! Great sound. Love these guys!!!!

I was at the Universal Amphitheatre this very night for Steve Martin and these guys opened the show. I didn't much have much exposure to Blues music but I got a great intro. I knew about the Blues Brothers from SNL but I didn't know they were opening the show. All of a sudden this awesome music started, from where I was sitting a tall guy and a short stocky guy doing cart wheels comes out wearing black suits and they just caught fire. They killed it for Steve Martin they were unbeliveably good!

I think if I was there at that concert, my heart would have been stabbed so many times viciously by the way Elwood stroked that harmonica and Jake hit "hey!". Man, I'd be long gone dead on the floor. You can't get no better than that once music calls for an ambulance.

John and Dan weren't just good performers, they were great performers. Their musicality was legit and they personified so many elements and channeled them through their great comedy chops in such a unique way to create the Blues Brothers. What they did was a routine, but it was one of the rare routines that never gets old and is absolutely timeless.

"So much of the music we hear today is reprogrammed electronic disco" - prophetic words which are even sadder today. The music considered as unworthy of real blues, this "reprogrammed electronic disco" is gold compared to what the music became today :( My only consolation is the fact that as long as the blues will keep burning in at least one soul, the light of this music will not fade.

I listen to The Blues Brothers, and I just find that nothing compares to it. The Blues Brothers just had this sound. Unique, and real. All the music you hear now has been overdubbed, remastered, autotuned and edited way too many times. It just ruins the sound. The Blues Brothers, and other classic bluesmen had a real sound. I'm glad that when Dan Akroyd said "By the year 2006, Blues will exist only in the classic records department of your public library" turned out to be a wrong guess!
