If you've never been in a hot, humid Texas summer...just listen to any Lightnin' Hopkins acoustic tune and you'll know what it feels like. Grew up in Houston and every time I hear Lightnin on the acoustic, I'm instantly transported back to a hot humid August day....and NO ONE could convey SO much with just a simple lyric like he could. He was a brilliant blues musician.
