In this second of a four parts videos we are going to learn and talk about the fusion of Blues and Arabic music.
I recently wrote a tune called "Casablanca-Texas" and in order to do it I experiemneted with these two music styles Texas Blues in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Maqam Arabic music.
In this first part I explain the bases of combining both styles. We begin by checking out the common Blues licks played on guitar and move to learn the first Jins or Arabic flavor called Saba.
I explain different ways to combine Blues and Arabic "licks" as we guitar players call them. Also Blues-ifying Arabic melodic phrases.
In my website you can find more resources in the subject, including videos, books, etc.
