The bluespotted cornetfish (Fistularia commersonii), also known as smooth cornetfish or smooth flutemouth, is a marine fish which belongs to the family Fistulariidae. This very long and slender reef-dweller belongs to the same order as the pipefishes and seahorses, called Syngnathiformes. It is widespread in the tropical and subtropical waters of the Indo-Pacific as far north as Japan and east to the coasts of the Americas, including the Red Sea. In 2000, its presence was reported in the Mediterranean Sea.

Il Pesce flauto (Fistularia commersonii) è un pesce marino che appartiene alla famiglia Fistulariidae. Questo lunghissimo e snello abitante della barriera corallina appartiene allo stesso ordine dei pesci ago e dei cavallucci marini, chiamati Syngnathiformes. È diffuso nelle acque tropicali e subtropicali dell’Indo-Pacifico fino al Giappone e ad est fino alle coste delle Americhe, compreso il Mar Rosso. Nel 2000 è stata segnalata la sua presenza nelle coste nord-africane del Mar Mediterraneo; da allora ha continuato a espandersi ed ormai si è ben ambientato in alcune zone.
