Babies are the same way, they recognize other people's voices inside the womb and when they come out and open their eyes see who that voice belongs to. Baby animals are the same way. Cinder pelt I'm more surprised with how they were literally only A DAY OLD when they opened their eyes. Kittens don't open their eyes and are born deaf and blind until a few weeks pass by. I just think they just made them older kits because it would be too much for the Erins to try to write about kits that couldn't do much except sleep so they aged them up a bit. But I agree that they shouldn't even be talking at their age they should only meow. In the original series the kittens never even spoke until they became a much older age.
