Two questions: 1. If you attach the teak to the metal, don’t you create a space in between the roof and the teak which you could insulate to keep the heat out or to run wires for lights, etc.? 2. Are there parts of the tattoos that we don’t see?

First off. I changed my profile pic??? I THOUGHT I LOST YOU GUYS! I couldn’t find you in my library. You threw me the slip (pun intended LOTI). You’ve gone from Dawn Hunters to Sailing Dawn Hunters. Oh well as long as we meet up again. Second, Lucile Ball in her candy factory uniform comes to mind. I can’t wait til this job turns out. We’ll have to see where the most coating lands - on Iana or the boat.😂 we Kidd because we love, right I’m so glad you two have a great sense of humor. That being said, may I offer my definition of what break means? Take Breakfast. Break FAST. No time to relax. Grab a donut, cup of coffee to go, and get a paintin’.😂

will you be insulating between the roof and the teak in the pilot house
@DawnHunters4 жыл бұрын
William When I fabricated the top was concerned about heat so it has 3/4 hand laid fiberglass top, 3 inches of high density poured foam for insulation, 1/4 hand laid fiberglass bottom and then 1/4 marine plywood attached for attachment of the teak strips. Even without the solar panels to block the sun roof temp inside is cool. Needless to say living in Florida having correct sun and heat protection is paramount. Great question Capt W

Does this boat yard charge you a tariff on the products you buy and bring in to use on your boat?

To the handsome humorous boating couple, from Rumplestiltskin. You report a 5’6” draft with a solid 6.5” solid steel heel at the bottom of your keel. You will be traveling west to the big Pacific Ocean. Would it be worth engineering a temporary steel drop keel, , attached to the solid steel heel for more draft, stability and windward ability?
@DawnHunters4 жыл бұрын
Good day Richard. THE RICHARD I had not thought of this but is a super good idea. Had you brought this comment up 3 months ago for sure would have an added steel keel of 1 foot to the current design. Maybe like a fin keel that would be only 1 inch thick x 1 foot long or other option to start midship to aft and make it 2 foot. I would have to check weight of such. Thank you for the comment and the solid bones of an amazing boat Capt W
