Interesting content. I actually am adjusting to 3betting tighter range esp in position + limp calling much more when against high VPIP players. The reason is high VPIP players also tend to be calling stations and hence whenever you get a missed suited connector and/or medium pair it can be tough to barrel and get them off. Hence a wider range might be difficult to play with even when it's somehow connected. Kinda bewildering to get a different results from your first point.

Nice video. I think A3o is a little loose to iso but if you think you're a good post flop player and have a edge on fish yes. Personnaly I just check river hoping A high is good or an overbet 125% pot to put a big pression on him; but he has loose stats and might call more often.

This sort of spot is why I love the WTSD% and W$SD% stats. Those stats in combo with VPIP are VERY descriptive on villains river tendencies. With that high of VPIP, if his W$SD is around low 40%ish we might be able to get him off some smaller pairs, but if that stat is in the mid 30s or lower just xback vs all the gut shots and worse FD you were beating. You’d be surprised how many he shows up with. I think Xback>bet in this spot. Also I would never iso this hand, but wouldn’t doubt you could maybe generate a small profit with a hand like this. I’m not confident enough or rich enough to try to outplay fishes with A3o. Love your content BTW BTS is the primary reason I improved my theory game SO MUCH. Please don’t stop with the content. 💪🏻

I would just like to point out that such stats would be quite unreliable unless your sample is very very high. Definitely much higher than even a few weeks of sessions. I don't think it would be safe to rely on these stats too much.

The gap between vpip and PFR can can be much wider for winning players according to Poker Tracker 4. I live in the USA and people, even online, often call a lot and limp a lot, at least 50 percent of players. so how do you think it's possible to have a small vpip and pfr gap in that situation if you're vping so high? You will just be burning money because they will not fold, and you will be putting in a ton of money preflop. I am talking low stakes games. In the USA people are not very good at poker in general.

Awesome video 👊🏻 About the A3o hand, is it a no brain check on the flop? If against a weak opponent you can fold him out lots of low equity hands that might steal the pot later

So I like your preflop action with A3o on the button vs a bad player limping. Do not like the check behind on the flop. I would range c-bet K72 30% sizing. If I am called, I will check behind the J turn not picking up any equity. On the river I will fold to a bet-the only draw that bricked was clubs and I have a club which is bad. So opponent shld be relatively value-heavy on the river.

@@BluffTheSpot thx man. I should also add: K72 in addition to being a great flop for PFR shld hit a limper not that well. But the J turn should be very good for his range as I perceive the typical limp range to be. by the river, sure I will be beating his T9 and QT but losing to his QJ and JT. Not sure he will call off a flop cbet with JT or T9 though… I guess I should add that facing a check on the river, I would check back. I think he has a number of jacks he won’t fold and im beating QT, Q9, T9 and some clubs that maybe he was too chicken to bluff.

You dont need to do anything based on his strategy of raising button wider vs opponent who 3 bet way more often means you will print money

For the last hand, if we really want to bluff then we can't use a normal size since the fish has 76% VP, he just never folds any medium pairs with a normal bet size. If I were the hero, I would just go all-in with 2x the pot size bet. By doing this way, he'll fold all his draw cards and medium pairs, even fold his K which is a lot of hands.

50 hands is way too small of a sample size to make assumptions like that. If someone plays perfect GTO preflop their HUD stats will fluctuate all over the place over only 50 hands.

6:22 Sure, you might be much better than me but I still think that is a horrible raise. I would expect this play from 34 or a maybe TT or KK. Raising 5x the pot seems really bad because virtually no one is calling without a set. Maybe you will get very rare calls from fish who think you are bluffing, but even fish know that people don't bluff 5x the pot, and even if they want to call, it is really hard for them to call with worse.

Why do you guys always do zoom? Zoom is a horrible form of poker and not practical for live cash games or multi ring cash games. It develops a lot of bad habits because most of this playing style ONLY works for Zoom.

When playing against fishs with high vpip and pfr we should actually tighten our range since our good hands will overperform massivly

If you tighten your range to the fish with high vpip then you are essentially over-folding to preflop bluffs. You also get less opportunities to take advantage of the fish’s errors post-flop. Alternatively, you could begin to 3Bet wider because if villain is opening wider he has more trash that must be folded, if he overcalls your 3bets then he is in bigger pots with you often having a significant range disadvantage. There may be tough regs in your pool that you perceive to be fish because you think you’re catching them with terrible hands, but they may just be opening 100% from button/sb against you because you’re over folding your blinds due to the tightening vs high vpip logic. If anyone realizes you’re doing this you are becoming extremely exploitable.

the whole point of poker is to play as many pots as possible against weaker players because they will make us the most money ,it makes no sense to tighten our range because we are leaving money on the table if we do that
