Great intro. I'm pretty sure that Iridium amp will be a Christmas gift to myself. I really like what Mr.Blug is doing with his amps. RJ your socks match your guitar that's great. Keep rocking.

I have the 1st edition Amp1, truly amazing! It’s not for dummies like me, but if you put in the time to listen and tweak it really does do everything you want. Used it for Marshall grind and jazz cleans, both equally great!

I met Thomas at NAMM last year. He is such a great guy, and he’s so passionate about his amps. He’s an amazing guitarist too.

Thanks for doing this video RJ! Thomas Blug is awesome...and smart of course! Metal Heads are that next group of guitarists he was wise to go after...though it's hard to sell vs the look of a wall of full stacks...this saves money on your pocket book and your back! I'd love to see more examples of how it sounds with pedals...rock on Mr. Blug!

The jam is awesome! I am currently mapping out an idea to have two, the Mercury and Iridium in a wet/dry mono rig with a L6 HXFX.. Thomas Blug is a genius. And one hell of a guitar player.

*In your professional opinion; the AMP-1 Mercury and Iridium, do they sound better running them direct into an IR, like TWO-Notes CAB or when they are Loaded Down through an Reactive-Load before the I.R.; like what is the actual difference??*

@tomireunanen80335 жыл бұрын
Actually, you were using a ”single-coil” tone when unleashing the metal. The switch between the pots on the Ibanez was facing up, which is basically a ”coil-split” mode. Killer playing, the opening jam was epic!

Sounds great but it kinda looks like that thing Kevin talked into in Home Alone 2. I think putting it in a more "traditional" amp head form factor would make it way more appealing to me.

The idea is so you can mount it on your pedal board though. :-)

What kind of a savant it takes, firstly build and play all the classic amps, build a phone-sized pedal to match them all.. THEN see a challenge in the metal-scene, go and study those amps, and players and their needs, and whip up a similar thing that sounds just as good as the best in there. With all the bells and whistles you could ever want.. I mean, the man seems the most jovial dude ever, but there MUST be a serious case of OCD grinding an amp-version of everyone he meets in that brain. While I'm trying to decide here too, whether to get Mercury or Iridium, ya'll let Mr.Blug have a little rest, and for fox's sake don't tell him there are bass-amps also.
