I absolutely love the inclusion of some of your trouble shooting. It's something that's missing from a lot of people's videos, and it helps so much when people try to follow along and stuff isn't working right

Great video tho! I actually play minecraft during downtime at work when theres nothing to do bc its a never ending game where theres always something to do and it doesnt require internet. Lol

Why do you use signs for stopping the water? Why not just move your drop off to put it where the water would stop on its own at the right location? (Move the water fall effect 8 blocks from where you want it to stop)?
@dywudhdhsoisfhdhsijs16456 ай бұрын
silly
@BluJayMC6 ай бұрын
In short...saves on resources, and speeds up the farm. Water pushing mobs is NOT fast. So, I sent them to the center of the farm, instead of the one side - quicker to the drop point. Then from there - only a couple blocks to the trident killer. It's worth the signs to me to get the faster rates. Also - in order to keep the trident killer going, if I made them go 8 blocks instead of 2, i'd have to use more comparators in the pulse extender - which is WAY more expensive than a couple signs.
@oaksparoakspar31445 ай бұрын
Crafters will make these farms sing. First, it turns your flint and steel production into a double chest of iron and flint stacks which you will never need to reload again. Then, it compresses your storage down to gold blocks, greatly reducing storage needs. Obviously, this system needs some cleric villagers on hand so that you can turn that rotten flesh into emeralds as quickly as possible - also letting you pump more XP out of the system from the trades and even building up a supply of XP bottles as well while you wait. I know I use my gold farms as XP farms far more often than as gold farms - even to the point of trading the gold to the clerics as well (especially if I'm trying to build up a supply of redstone from them). I love the sub-floor design. These farms are ridiculously ugly. I've done them underground a few times and most have worked well (one dropped too deep leading to some respawns). I don't usually use trident killers, so my best working one was built into a mountain side, pushing towards me, with a drop and fall into the kill chamber just slightly below the bottom line of the portals. The biggest issue it had was splitting the hopper lines so that they could keep up with the production level. I really should go back into that world and scrap the current system and go with something not hopper based.

Any reason for using water instead of powdered snow to break the portals? Just wondering, because from what I've heard water can be slower than snow because of the flow. Plus if the water manages to hit the top of a wall it can wash away redstone, but that part shouldn't be a problem with this design because of the large catch tray, not figuring out which side they're spawning from worked in your favour there lol.
@PapaSnuffy6 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why you'd want Mending on the trident killer tridents. 🤷♂️ Nice gold farm!
@BluJayMC6 ай бұрын
In case you ever need to take them out for any reason - tridents farmed from drowns sometimes come with VERY low durability. Nothing wrong with mending it up to ensure it doesn't break on you if you need to re-throw it.
@raymondstheawesome6 ай бұрын
It's more important now. There is a bug that causes tridents to fall down before blocks load in, so it forces you to pick up and rethrow
@PapaSnuffy6 ай бұрын
@@raymondstheawesome, that used to happen on my raid farm but thankfully it hasn't been an issue with my gold farm, which has 30. I do have Impaling V on them, which makes a huge difference. 🙂

As a new viewer and subscriber, I am certainly enjoying your videos. This farm would be good for my world and for the modified piglin bartering system i got from you, however it would take a week to build as i play on mobile/tablet. I would love to see you build a smaller farm for us mobilers to use as an alternative option. Or have you made one already??? Anyways i loved this video, got even more entertaining at the ending bits. Keep up the good work mr blujay minecraft lol

When the wandering trader spawns in your farm he will break your item sorter. Also of it's night and a seleton or zombie with weapon or armour spawns. And then there is creepers Your farm will struggle at times...
@BluJayMC5 ай бұрын
It's made entirely of glass except the portals...which they should not be able to spawn in. I think it'll be ok. :)
@TheHellis5 ай бұрын
You did have some concrete, not sure if that was accessible though. But there is lots of hoppers, chests, droppers. And as you said the portals themselves, I have experienced mobs spawning on the top part then pushing each other of the portal roof. The good thing is that you will notice it when the swords start piling up in the water stream 😂 If you want to try and fix it then you can add a non stackable filter before the smelters. This should remove anything that is not weapons, armour and the saddles. Should more safe.

Why not double the nether portal for more XP and item drops?
@BluJayMC6 ай бұрын
You mean 10 portals instead of 5? Well...2 reasons. 1. It's a single player world - it's not necessary. 5 portals are MORE than enough for both XP and loot. 2. I'm showing off a tutorial on how I would do it - but that doesn't mean it's not expandable. By all means - add more portals! Just don't lag out a server if it's multiplayer. Your server mates will not like that! :)

It was like...50 blocks deep? Just make sure you do NOT go below Y=0 with the portals. Piglins do not spawn below Y=0 because of a bug that's been in the game since they lowered the world height to negative Y coordinates.
