Most of their USA interviews seem very perfunctory, abrasive and grudging. Their first American tour ( by their own accounts) was fairly chaotic and unpleasant. Audiences didn't really grasp what they were or understand what they were doing. They became disillusioned, frustrated and more or less wrote the possibility of gaining any traction in the USA off .. They were still contractually obligated to promote albums and perform in the states though... The UK /Europe/ Japan is probably where their most ardent and committed fans have always resided.
