Blur was one of the greatest bands ever. They got me through the 90's. What happened in the 90's'? You'd think the way people talk that grunge was the only thing out there. It was all the British bands--Blur, Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack, Spiritualized, Radiohead, and that one singular expatriate Icelandic space pixie that made the 90's for me.

Graham's fuzzy tone is so ear-grabbing. But I wouldn't say 85%. They are all such musicians. Rhythm section is so tight and Dave CRUSHES quango. The tightness is what really sets them apart from the other big britpop acts imo. Seriously this video put me in a damn trance

Graham Coxon surely is one of the top guitarists of ALL TIME, and I say this as a guy who plays the electric guitar (and drums). However, Dave is a very good drummer and Alex is also a very good bassist. They are all at a high level.

Graham writes great guitar parts largely due to the great tuneful songs Damon writes. Damon uses lots of chords and strange progressions, which gives Graham a lot to go with. Such an incredible combo.

there was a kind of face-off in the nineties (rather imposed by the media) between Blur and Oasis over the brit pop throne, so to speak. There was no victor. Both bands turned out to be equally great. However I think that Blur is more interesting musically. Guitar, bass, and drums all have trully great moments. This song in particular is a guitar paradise. How great Coxon is as a guitar player!

Blur's definitely my favorite. To be honest, I'd rather listen to Blur, Pulp, Supergrass, The Verve, or Suede (and potentially many other rock bands of the period) over Oasis. I just can't get into Liam's vocals and the tired instrumentals. Also Wonderwall is hilariously overplayed.
