Constantine P Oh yea. The only thing I'd like to add to this is during the chorus, you can play a 2nd guitar part (rhythm) by after playing Cm7 and that weird B chord, you go back to that Am/weird A chord, then back to Cm7, then E major, then Am/that weird A chord then back to that weird B chord. And when u do it the second time, u just end on D major instead of the weird B one. Probably fun to do with two guitars. Hope I described that well enough haha.

Constantine P No problem at all! Glad it helped.

Nice to see a guitar tutorial with such expert attention to detail! The little lick going into the chorus at 8:20 isn't right though to my ears.

yep, but the verse-chorus bridge is kinda wrong, I took the guitar a bit and this sound more accurate imo: e -----x/x-----x b -----7/9----7 g -----x/x-----x d -----4/6-----4 a -----x/x------x E------5/7-----5 and then ending with that A chord on 5th fret he explained (/ is for sliding, after just one strumming for the last two chords).

This is easily the best explanation of this song I've seen online. I'm struggling with the "pinky bend" on the first chord tho! It'll strengthen with time tho I'm sure. What reverb are you using man? Sounds ace!

Hey, thanks! I’m just using the reverb setting on my Fender Super Champ X2.

Brilliant. I pondered if it really was both C and C# in this A chord but I never dared to post it anywhere ;)
@FraserMacphersonmusic9 жыл бұрын
+kapikapikapi Thanks! Haha yeah, I dared, and I'm certain it's right! It's what I'm hearing in the live videos anyway. He's a chord wizard Coxon eh.

for the B, how do you not get your A string muted by your 2nd finger?
@Noisehead1018 жыл бұрын
I met him a few times and one he showed me that Am type chord but with on the 3rd fret on the A string, which is a C note, which makes more sense. But you're right also, i've seen him play the C# note too. Anyway, he's a very interesting and creative player so it doesn't surprise me he has more than 1 way of playing his songs.
@FraserMacphersonmusic8 жыл бұрын
Cool! Very lucky to have met him a few times. I met him once outside a bar and we talked for a bit about Bert Jansch, never got the chance to discuss his own guitar playing. Yeah, he's an incredible talent!
@Noisehead1018 жыл бұрын
Fraser Macpherson Ahh, he's a cool guy. I got to support him a few times on his solo ventures as we have the same booking agent, so i've been lucky enough to play a bit of guitar with him too just messing around. Top guy and great guitarists. Cock Rock guitar and long solo's have never appealed to me even when i started playing when i was young. I always knew Blur's music when i was young but it wasn't until i got into playing guitar that i really started hearing guitar in songs, so that style of his was just really appealing rather than the usual rehashed pentatonic licks and solo's. I just like the way he totally thinks outside of the box when it comes to his guitar parts, no pun intended. The tone really is in the fingers too. I've been him play a guitar and amp that isn't his usual rig and it still sounded like Graham Coxon.
@FraserMacphersonmusic8 жыл бұрын
+Lenny Henry Sweet! What band are you in? That's really cool that you got to have some jams with him. Definitely, my favourite guitarists are Coxon, Marr, Butler and Greenwood, guitarists that are the complete antithesis of the cock rock long solo garbage.
