I can't help but parrot a point made in the video: IF YOU HAVE AN EMISSARY FLAG, YOU ARE A TARGET. Not just to reapers but to anyone who wants to farm flags since they are worth quite a lot even without flying the Reaper Emissary. You will have to defend yourself. If you don't want to be targeted as often (there's always a chance) then simply don't use the emissary system.

Considering that selling with an emissary flag at grade 5 you get +150% worth the gold, you can cash in 2 times and get sunk 3 times, earning the same money as you would by selling 5 times without a flag. You are always in danger, you need to always be aware of your surroundings. Raise your flag high, always on high seas, be blod, play with other players, have fun!

I think the big thing to learn as a new player is that "losing" does not matter at all. Youre literally only working towards cosmetics. You wont get better weapons or anything its all just for fun

The issue is time. Everything in this game takes hours, someone who only has 2 hours a day to play will get very frustrated, hours wasted to achieve nothing. The learning curve in this game is not smooth, most players use exploits. There's a reason why sweaty people avoid other sweaty people.

4:00 Sailing mechanics have changed. If sailing directly into a headwind, put your sails far to one side. And Sloop should always try to catch wind, even if it can't fully catch. Deadsailing is dead. Also, The sailing mechanics have made all ships more drifty when circling. To minimize this, Brigantines and Galleons should use "Wonkysails" which entails putting the front and back sail fully to opposing sides. Brig should have rear sail at around 70% compared to the front sail, while Gally should have front and back at matching lengths with mid fully raised. This configuration gives you the most consistent circling patterns.

4:10 you no longer want to angle your sails directly into the wind aka "dummy sails". Instead try to catch as much wind as you can if you can't catch any either side is fine. This changed in the most recent update.

here's two loadouts I use for the type of encounter I may find. In pve use sword and flintlock (flintlock has the fastest reload speed and about same range as the sniper) while for pvp I just switch the flintlock for the blunderbuss for high damage

Also if you ever go to reapers to sell and there is a skeleton that tells you to follow him down for an initiation, you better run. He will make you lie in a coffin and never get up. If you try to run he will chase you and call you your IRL name.

Genuine question here are cheaters still a big problem even after anti-cheat updates? Some guy teleported into our cannon yesterday and another guy seemed invincible even after 3 of us blasted him and hit him with throwing knives and was trying to give free V bucks if we did something with the hourglass, he left eventually but I was looking here on KZbin for answers and just found 5 videos on how to download cheats. I’m super new from PlayStation just trying to figure out what’s going on, still loving this game we went on to sink 3 or 4 ships after that and it was a blast.

Should make a little mini-guide on the what and whys of SOT sweatlords you covered oneshot doublegun sweats gotta explain why historically the dark adventure sails were a prime tell of the biggest advantage over style players on the seas then cover the stuff thats still available the cutthroat canon flare that lets you see through it faster, the tucker outfit especially going barefoot, never using a pegleg, covering the capstan with loot and clutter, choosing the skinniest shortest pirate possible, blunderbomb spam, puking on you opponents, the black pearl and other plain canons, and the fake meme that sweats will use no ship cosmetics to trick players into thinking theyre new no one ever does that

The video mentions that hitting grade 5 emissary marks you on the map for all players. Everything I can find online only mentions grade 5 Reapers being able to see other emissaries, but nothing about grade 5 emissaries of other companies being visible to all players. I don't think I've ever seen an emissary other than Reapers on the map (without being grade 5 Reaper myself). Does anybody have personal experience that supports what is said in the video?

Safer Seas are also for the players who want a quality distraction of a game instead of the higher tension of the high seas, and the devs do realize that they got your money even if PVP isn't often your mug of grog. Sometimes it's better to have higher player numbers in less aggressive ways than to not have them at all, for business reasons.

That will ruin the game If there was a dedicated pve server Then the PvP aspect of the game becomes nothing as there will be no treasure to steal Also the game would get insanely boring because of it turning from fighting for loot to boringly stacking with no risk The game is DESIGNED in a way to have PvP occur because I don't know if you noticed but all you can buy is cosmetics that's because the game isn't about the treasure but the way you got it and what you had to do to get it

Everyone's always saying, that loot isn't yours until you turn it in and I get where that comes from, but what if you only have 1-2 hours per week to play and every time you try to get something done, someone comes around and sinks or harasses you, mostly galeons, briggs and reaper sloops. I've played on and off since closed beta and still didn't achieve the PL status, because of other players. I play mostly solo sloop, because my friends don't have the game, or a pc/xbox. I'm excited for the ps5 launch, because my gaming group can join me on the seas, but I'm also afraid, because they are even worse than I am in any form of pvp.

Players on pc and Xbox don’t do much other than just troll other players and turn away newcomers. Ps5 servers are much better, not as many sweats seeing as the majority of the sweaty base of gamers stem from the pc/xbox area.
