Blustery afternoon Plane Spotting at London Luton Airport, LTN | 01-12-17

Finally, winter has arrived, well meteorologically it has. I decided to spend the first day of winter at my local airport, just to see what was about. It was an extremely cold afternoon indeed, with 20kt winds coming from the north and temperatures sitting around 1 degrees. I managed to last a good 2 and a half hours with my finger tips cold and sore. But its all part of the fun and at the end of the day I enjoyed it.
Luton certainly feels a bit lost now, what with Monarch gone, and a few TUI flights withdrawn for the winter. It was a quiet afternoon in fact, not as many Wizz Air's as I'd of expected to see, but plenty of Easyjets around. I am looking forward to next year to see Thomas Cook expand at Luton as well as SunExpress, both of whom are starting up next summer.
Video includes: Easyjet A320's, A320 NEO and A319's, Wizz Air A320's and A321, Ryanair 737's and a few bizjets including Gulfstreams, Globals and more!
Nothing too exciting to see here I'm afraid, but for me its always nice to see different colours of LCC's operating at my local. The added northerly crosswind made for some interesting landings, including a late Ryanair touchdown which missed the exit to Q1 and had to backtrack. Something I've only ever witnessed once before, so quite interesting. Also look out for the Easyjet NEO right at the end of the video with some nice wake vortex's on the clouds.
