In my opinion, the acoustic drumming compliments the Memoria Vetusta sound much better than the programmed drums in Dialogue With the Stars.

Its like they're possessed by a special kind of demons when they write a Memoria Vetusta album. Almost 20 years apart and they still sound amazing in exactly the same way.

I agree, the Memoria Vetusta albums are very different from the other works of Blut Aus Nord....and Blut Aus Nord is one man by the way, Vindsval is his name

Vlad was Vindsval only. W.D. Feld has been doing the electronics (and occasionally drumming) for Blut aus Nord since its inception, and Ghost has been playing bass for them for nearly 15 years.

@NuKeMETAL78
@NuKeMETAL78 8 жыл бұрын
@bathorytepesviktor2250
@bathorytepesviktor2250 8 жыл бұрын
@NuKeMETAL78
@NuKeMETAL78 8 жыл бұрын
@bathorytepesviktor2250
@bathorytepesviktor2250 8 жыл бұрын

This is the first time I have heard these guys...first thing I noticed was the balance of instrument volumes, very nice. It seems to me, a lot of songs emphasize the vocals because lyrics and shit, and like...we aren't used to human voices sounding that way in every day life -- but now that we've had heavier sort of music for a while, we ARE used to it, so they can often just drown out the rest of the song...this stuff does not do that! How glorious!

I have to say that I've been seeking out and listening to metal bands for the past 15 years or so, and this is certainly a standout album which could certainly stand up to some of the best. Like winding pathways of fate, the guitars tell a story that is rich, beautiful and sorrowful in the most transcendent way. This, along with Obsequiae - Aria of Vernal Tombs and Sacramentum - Far Away from the Sun are my favorite black metal albums at the moment.

Memoria Vetusta II is my all time favourite album. I listen to it almost once a day. But Memoria Vetusta III isn't a worthy sequel. This album is neither bad nor good. It has no Hilights and sounds like Porridge.

Gulliva73 This one is a grower, but after absorbing all the details I think it's actually on par with MVII, and better in some ways (the production, for example). MVII is among my all time favorites, but MVIII is beautiful and virtually every song has a moment or two (or three) that utterly enthrall me.

matternicuss Hi, the last albums I bought after listening to MVIII were Triunity (Split with P.H.O.B.O.S.), . What Once Was Liber I and What Once Was Liber III. These albums are masterpieces as well imho. I still have a problem to fully accept MVIII as being a masterpiece and being a sequel to MV II. Each album of BAN has Ups and Downs. There are several styles and periods along their releases... but each album comes to its highlights, instead of MVIII, I think...

Gulliva73 I thought Triunity was excellent (at least the BAN songs), and the Liber series were interesting as well. I don't think I've ever heard an album from BAN that I outright disliked; virtually every release has something for me, but obviously I have my favorites as well.

last tracks are rushed and unfinished by the sound of it. and programmed drums at least were well integrated in past albums. on this one real drums are linear, bombastic at moments and cover everything, being needed to dig with every tympanum the background where bass lines are not present. pretty much total shit compared to MV 2.
