BM 800 Condenser Microphone (Phantom Power VS RAW)

As promised from my previous video here a comparison of the BM 800 Condenser Microphone with the Phantom Power and w/o the phantom power.
I've also heard that there's two type of BM800 microphone one is the battery powered BM 800 and one is without. The one I've bought is not the battery powered BM 800, so it definitely requires a phantom power or a good quality sound card! Check the video out!. I'm pretty much impressed by this cheap condenser microphone!

I owned BM800 for two years now and it's great. And after replacing the stock phantom power with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen, it became more better. For it's price, its definitely a steal especially if you are on budget for gaming, streaming, music recording or vocal recording. the only downside is that it produces a bit background noise compare to popular entry-level condenser mic such as AT2020 or Rode NT1-A. But still I dont think i will be changing to a new microphone anytime soon

Yo! Thanks for the great support! I would say that it depends on which version of BM800 condenser mic you bought. There's 2 version. One is battery powered and one is without. The one without the battery needs phantom power to boost to gain of the mic. So check the specs with your seller to find out which version you bought! Hope it helps!

Yes you can, and it's a must. So that the phantom power gets enough power. Make sure it's a stable 5volts power supply.

@@lojoboy3854 Hi, thanks for asking the question! Yes the link is the one where I bought the phantom power. There's actually two versions of BM800 Mic, one with battery powered and one is without. The one without battery needs phantom power to boost the gain. The "Noise" you referred to is coming from an unstable power outlet. Try NOT to power the phantom power from any USB hubs from your PC. Ill recommend to powered it from a charging adapter that has 5v output. (most of the modern phone charger adapter will do) Plug that adaptor to wall plug and test it again to see the Noise is still there. Hope it helps!

Hi Edzel, you will be needing a 48v Phantom Power, this device will reduce the buzz sound in your audio and amplify the gain of the recording. I would recommend to plug the phantom power direct into wall plugs with a normal USB adaptor to prevent under volt circuit noise disturbance. If you have extra budget a sound card will be great for mixing bass and treble direct into your recordings. Hope my reply helps!

Hi Nash, Try to connect both sound card and phantom power to wall plug instead of USB hubs, Electric current might product hiss/buzz sound effect. Audio sound muffled try to reduce bass from soundcard and up your treble. Or you'll have to use editing software to edit your audio. Hope it helps!

No. I found that in mine it actually made the mic not work. All it does is make a high pitched eeeeeee when it is in use. I use a 13 inch Mac and that is most of the reason why. It’s going through the adapter set up I had for it and the sound card. Just my experience

Good review but most people won’t be getting a proper understanding of this. You’re in a sound treated room where as most people who use these cheap product are mostly home recording artiste who work in environments with noise so this isn’t really a fair test to bring out the differences. I feel for this review to have passed a clearer message it would have been better this comparison was done In some where like a normal room

It is in a normal room, with air conditioning turned on. No deadening pads installed. Windows are old fashion non sound proof. I guess cheap mic aren't able to pick up those details.

You will have to need a phantom power Orrrrrrrr a sound card. Either one will help to boost the gain of the mic. Without one of those two, it's very soft. :) just get one cheap 12usd phantom power will help.
