The locking screw at 1:19 seems like a torx 45, and it will not budge, even using a drill to unscrew. I can't remove the broken assembly. Ideas? Am I ignorant of some fact?

Just push the mirror in one side and pull it from the other, exaggerate the natural movement and it will come out

Thank you for the helpful videos, as I just moved to the UK and am trying to maintain my 1999 Golf GTI. I am in need of new wing mirrors (same color as in this video), and just a few interior parts, too. Do you have a preferred source and/or website you like to go through for parts? Having very little luck with the local scrap yard, but feel this car is worth the few quid I'll drop to get it sorted nicely.

Managed to unscrew all the screws around the outside and unclip it, but it's fixed on behind the door handle. Please can you let me know how to get to these screws without wrecking the interior? go Mexican and German side view mirrors will line right up with my gti that was made in Brazil? They used a different manufacturer, Metagal and I've been reading that the two won't interchange even though they look identical, the bolt pattern will not line up. I bought a pair off eBay and they didn't line up unless I drilled holes and they still would've been off

You need to find something that has a very tight fit, they all vary slightly.

The inside door handle connecting cable pops out very easily when you remove the door panel and you may...want to mention it. I learned it the hard way.

After reading these golf swing secrets “Jοmtοnο Naha” (Google it) and doing the drills as I read, I went out and shot a 73. I hit 13 of 18 greens in regulation. On the other 5 holes, I missed the green by an average 5 to 10 yards. Since Nine is my handicap, I rarely shoot 73s. It was not my best round ever, but it was my best in a long time.
