I feel like there’s “Reptile” and the rest of the album is “Reptile Pt. II”... this song so perfectly prepares you for all of the elements and oddities that the rest of the album has to offer.

It's not the same chorus from Garden In The Bones, it's the same vocal melody, but they're different lyrics. Where GITB is talking about "The claim WE stake, a land within OUR wake", Reptile is from the opposite perspective "The claim THEY stake, a land FROM US they take". It's absolutely AMAZING. Spencer has become a storytelling GENIUS. Oh! And yeah you DID hear a lot of the instrumentals from this song on others because they ARE the same, with slight variations. This intro song is the perfect preparation for the instrumental elements to come. Think like the guy below me said, this is "Reptile" and the rest is "Reptile II"

@josevonbuergenwader2
@josevonbuergenwader2 5 жыл бұрын
The part that sounds like Garden in the Bones is called a motif. It's become a staple of Periphery albums: Periphery 2 had a motif that spanned across the songs Muramasa, Ragnarok and Masamune. Juggernaut, as a concept album, was packed with them. Periphery 3 had a motif that spanned across the songs The Way The News Goes, Absolomb and Lune.
