And people playing chess see the best move in 20-30 seconds and consider it for 10-20 mins. Why? Cause if you are a good player with experience, besides planning, you consider 3 things - what if I am wrong and there is a better way, what is my opponent planning to do and how will he react to this play. Most of the times answers are trivial, but making yourself rope to think on those generally makes your win rate so much better
