Excellent video and good performance with a challenging new fishery! I fish the next two reservoirs up the Missouri River from Oahe. They can be incredibly challenging and it took me a long time to dial in some patterns. However, the Missouri River Reservoirs can also be some of the most incredible smallmouth fishing on earth, no doubt. I hope to see the elite series come back to Oahe and hope the rest of the season goes well for ya!!

Thank you so much for the lesson sir! love all of your tournament videos but love these insightful videos and being able to learn being a baseball player and only getting out on the water so often I have to do a lot of learning off the water in order to make sure I fish to my full potential when I do fish and have fun! thank you so much for the content!!

Got any tips for Oneida Lake in NY? That's the lake I fish the most for smallies. I usually drop shot around the shoals.
@BmpFishing6 жыл бұрын
Pay attention to the Algae bloom. Typically they will be around the cleaner water there.
@retrocny56256 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. Few weeks back the algae bloom was unbelievably bad, I was fishing the eastern end that day. It's cleaned up since then. Though over the summer I've been walleye fishing on Oneida more since the trolling bite turned on. I usually launch near Lewis Point, then run just north of the buoy line and then go west to east from marker 109 to 115, then turn around and run it again. You just need to get out there as early in the AM as possible, when it's still pretty dark before sunrise. Anyway, I appreciate the tip. I'm gonna be going out for smallies this weekend. Hope the B.A.S.S guys come back to Oneida soon. It's my home lake and I love it up here.

Love this type of video! very informative! is that the only way you can fish a drop shot or is it as effective to cast and retrieve? What type of retrieve would you do if you were casting it? awesome vids keep up the great work
@BmpFishing6 жыл бұрын
This is not the only way. If I am fishing structure or cover more than specific fish I will then typically cast.

Hi Brandon, We met at the fishing show in Collinsville Illinois. 😀 I'm limited to a 2D only basic fish finder. Is there anything I should be doing to maximize it's limited potential? Thanks and great video!

Catching fish out of that depth, did you have to fizz any in the livewell?

Adam Zurfluh I actually didn’t. I fin clipped them and it worked great.

Just subscribed to your channel and I am going through all of your videos. Very informative and I have a couple of questions. What was the length of line between your weight and your bait? I've seen your other videos going over your Solix settings, but this one looked different from those. What color pallet were you using for DI, SI, & 2D? Chart speeds? Contrast & Sensitivity? Mega imaging or other frequency? Did you leave the depth to auto or did you specify a depth? What was your range for SI? Thank you for the info and love the videos.
@BmpFishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey Derrick! I'll be doing a full breakdown of my setups as soon as I get my new boat rigged up for 2021. I've changed a few setting since this video as the technology has advanced. For the drop shot distance I'm usually around 12in give or take a couple. Thanks for subscribing and following along!

@@BmpFishing Can't wait!! Thank you for the info. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!
@tylertorwick6 жыл бұрын
Awesome video as usual Brandon! Curious... why do you run your DI in the 800kHz range and not as high as the mega imaging transducer will allow?
@BmpFishing6 жыл бұрын
Tyler Torwick it’s a wider band so I get better coverage when I’m not moving as fast and searching for fish.
@certifiedfishingcycling92086 жыл бұрын
If the fish werent on that 30/40 fow mark..lets say 15/20 would the rod setup change? If so what would it be?
@BmpFishing6 жыл бұрын
Not for me. I use this same setup at any depth for a drop shot.
@TimKidwellOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Brandon, would you ever just use the spool for a drop shot rather than braid and a fluoro leader? If so, is there a certain situation where that would work best, or no?
