With “clean the roof” they mean get rid of the current roof and make an new one. This one still contains asbestos and the state of the roof is rapidly deteriorating. Milo also isn’t allowed to do this himself, a specialized and certified company has to do that.

He still has the other tank but can 't finish it because Dutch rules for firearms. He is almost there, final step is made and now we all wait for his permission so that he can finish the tank🤗

He went to work on radar systems etc on ships. That is what he went to school for.

@@MisterG00 I believe the daily commute was Dirk's main reason to switch jobs. Milo lives very close to the Belgium border, and Dirk lives somewhere in the Rotterdam area. That's quite a drive...

Hear a tip and a warning, if you put sealant on a surface, put it around the screws as well, otherwise, water will enter inside the thread cavity and lock the screws shut. Add a squeeze of it around the bolt head as well, but only on non essential parts, where you don't use a torque wrench.

That insignia on the side of the BMP, it's ČSLA isn't it? These BMPs were made in todays Slovakia, so it should be called BVP (Bojové vozidlo pěchoty, same thing as IFV really), a license copy of soviet BMP.

What about the lubrication of all the torsion bar/ suspension pivots??

There is usually a system inside the tank that takes care of that. I remember seeing lubrication lines coming together in one block in the Kingtiger under the turret floor.

I need to lubricate those. There are grease points on the outside for this too.

Ok. I just wondered about the bearings. Are they rolling element bearings?? If so will probably be in a bad way just like those wheel bearings. If they are metal bushes, then maybe the grease will flush out the garbage and restore the bearing. I look forward to seeing how you deal with this Thanks Alan

whats the status with the bmp engine ? is it fixable ? or is it broken..

It is very very broken… There are pistons, cylinders and valves completely ruined due to hydrolock and water remaining in the engine. So it’s been completely disassembled and Milo is ordering parts (getting piston rings seem to be a challenge) to rebuild the engine.
