IMO, the Trajectory Pre-Vis is a buff to Thorn as well. Or at least an anti-nerf. Because her Razorblooms spin when thrown, it was tricky to get them into tighter spaces, or accidentaly hit map geometry you weren't aiming for. While I agree her gadget needs a buff (either shorter trigger delay, or shorter wind-up time), I have LOTS of fun playing her. Now that razorwire damages Attackers, they'll usually take the time to melee it, assuming they don't have a gadget for that. Set up a Razorbloom in a blindspot, and even if you don't kill, or even injure them, you and your team will know roughly where they are! It's a deadly little Proximity Sensor. She also pairs GREAT with other trap ops, like Kapkan or Lesion. Set up a Razorbloom outside a trapped door, and most Attackers might panic and rush in before clearing the Kapkan traps, and boom! Or a lesion mine can slow them down just enough to not escape the radius! Weak? Sure! Weakest? Maybe. Useless? Not by a mile!

Thorn is slept on, if you know how to place her traps properly and use her secondary gadgets to utilize her razor blooms then its easy to get a few kills with just a gadget alone. you don't just throw her gadget in random spots. utilize the ceiling and the shield and wire to slow down attackers, utilize her gadget on the stairs. She gets hate over a skill issue.

As a thorn main who kept maining her since solar raid because of the nice uzk gun was , I was happy that she got a 1.5 but then it sadly got removed, her gun is still very strong and hard hitting imo still and her ability can be used with any slow down operators/ barbed wires

you have something missing. they gave 1.5 to the thorn because a new thorn elite was coming. After the elite reliase they removed it. so it was a scam. This is a big thing that you didnt mention in the video.

He's not as bad as people say he is. His gadget is a bit weak, and does need a buff, but that DP-27 is an absolute monster. An automatic DMR, with very little recoil, high destruction, and a 70 round magazine. People will say it has a low fire rate, because Siege players are used to guns that empty their entire magazine in 0.5 seconds.

I think giving her 5 gadgets would help her a lot. Makes it so you have good sound queues at least. You’d also cover more ground like Kapkan. Or make it more like kapcan where it automatically goes off if you’re in the radius and reduce dmg taken to like 75-50 depending on how close

its really easy to buff her, give her 6 of her gadget, reduce the timer to explode it by 75% but it deals way less damage, since it will became almost instant, make it deal 30 damage or so (independent of the distance). She will be like kapkan, but a bit less OP. Here's why, ever since its triggered by distance, you HAVE to trigger one first before the other one, so one razor will always destroy another one, so you will need to spread them in the bomb site and use it to gather more intel and hurt the attackers.

Thorn's gadgets works only with other OPs. For example Frost and Thorn, Melusi and Thorn, Clash and Thorn but my favorite is Thorn and Goyo Duo. U are placing Ur mines directly on goyo's gadgets and now IT triggers Goyo tanks when attacker is in range and its hard to stop it. If u want to shoot down Thorn's mine most likely u will trigger Goyo. In right placent even when attackers just sprints nearby that trap combo he cant go back because of goyo explosion so many times attacker is forced to being in danger zone with no way out

Idk I'll do so good with thor mainly because of her smg still great without 1.5x (use extended since it has no recoil) and combining her grenade with razor wire works surprisingly often you just need to hide her grenade well and put it in good spots.

I think they should remove long barrel on Thorn's gun and give it back the damage it used to have, they can keep the gun as 1x sights only. I think they should also either slightly reduce the detonation timer of the Razorblooms and keep them the same damage or significantly reduce it but also lower the damage, similar to how they worked in the most recent doctors curse and also how Kapkan's traps went from visible laser 1 shot to invisible laser 2 shot. Potentially if they wanted to put in the effort for a full on rework have them be the only 2 mode defender trap in the game where one mode is the slow timer, full radius, full damage explosion and the other is the faster timer, smaller radius and lower damage mode possibly indicated by a different sound playing when triggered.

Her ability is pretty good if used well or paired with other operators, say you could make a hole in the floor where defualt plant is and place your razerbloom there to deny default. Shes aslo realy good paired with other operaters like melusi or any op with barb wire. Also now you can self rez in frist mats so placing a razerbloom next to a mat is a good strat.

New comers opinion, so you know, take with a grain of salt. I feel like thorn is in a similar position as Tachanka. Both are considered bad operators, but have some very strong potential. However, that potential is hard capped. Tachanka is so much better than smoke or goyo at making a permenent barrier, or multiple barriers that can last a solid minute straight. However, his lower damage, long reload, and low aoe, he is best in very specific contexts. When an attacker can only go one or two ways, effectively. Thorn is like that in the sense that shes being played wrong. She isnt kapkan, shes thorn. Her gadget isn’t meant to kill people, just like a grenade in modern siege isnt meant to kill. They can, and you want them to, but if you expect them to, theyll fall short. Thorn forces you to move. That angle? Not for you anymore. A thorn trap forces attackers to pull back, or ideally, push forwards. The problem is, there are pretty niche circomstances where that is aplicable, and when it is, it takes game knowledge to utilize. Which means you need to play thorn before youve optimized using her. Great potential, but only for those willing to bite the bullet and sit through grinding skill on her.

I like using thorn shotgun and C-75 to make her a useful anti-shield operator. I really think she should have four or even five Razorblooms or increase their damage radius by a lot. Her primary smg could also do with a slight buff but otherwise her loadout is fine.

This may be too much of a a buff but if they were to make the gadget over powered but making it act like a c4 that can be pre placed and makes no sound and you activate it by interacting with it like Fenrir but to keep it balanced maybe make the falloff range lower so it wouldn’t be a 1 shot all the time but it would do significantly more damage than an individual Kapkan trap but it would take info or clever timing to work well

Make thorn traps bulletproof but extend the time of the trap activating, that way it acts similar to that of a melusi trap with a secondary purpose as a proxy barrier like smoke making it another "if you're dumb enough to stay you die" gadget. This can act as a proxy/intel trap if placed in rooms attackers use to take site, but its primary use would be for trap intel kind of like ela since the common sense braindead solution to a thorn trap is to un-ads, and run before your team blockades into a copper stack moshpit at the nearest exit. This will give thorn a great unique playstyle as an aggressive roamer that can force attackers out of rooms where she can either surprise flank, or force attackers to rush site. However, the most flawed thing about this change is simply logic because all traps can be shot and most traps dont have a protective layer like melusi. Although gameplaywise it is the best solution, if we're going for maintaining some logic then js make the traps invis like og lesion. I think being bulletproof is a better characteristic for trap gadgets than being slightly visible, so to compensate for that activation time should be faster. Sadly, I don't think ubi can make the actual ideal balance change which is to change the color of her hair and give her a soul, because some things in life are truly too good to be true

Here’e how I see it: Thorn sucks because her gun does less damage and has a low magazine capacity. On top of that, it is easy to dodge her razor bloom due to it’s 2.5 second detonation time. So, why doesn’t UBI make the razorbloom’s detonation time 1-1.5 seconds, and give her gun more damage (or expand the volume of her magazine). What I’m thinking for the heavier details: increase the mag capacity to 26+1 or increase the damage by 6-8 hp. Thoughts? I wish to see some critical commentary

yeah making the razor bloom any shorter than 2 seconds will become far to difficult to get out on time, likely impossible if combined with melusi or a barb wire, ioncreasing the damage will help yet maybe instead of that as increasing it will only be good for atleast 1 damage so that she can 3 bullet kill a 2 speed, instead to really bring her into the meta i think increasing the fire rate from 700 to maybe 740-60 will make the gun alot more powerful.
