Bring me the Horizon is the only band I listened to in highschool that I still listen to as a 26 year old. I appreciate the fact that they've continued to evolve. The rest of the "heavy metal" bands I used to listen to have either disbanded or are still churning out the same stale sound from a decade ago. I won't lie though, I got a little giddy from that outro. :)

there are plenty of metalcore artists that are still going strong and evolving their sound but staying in the genre as well. Devil wears Prada and every time I die to name a few . It more depends on whether your taste has changed or expanded, for example I used to listen to only metalcore now I listen to most genres so this album isnt too bad for me

Actually if u pay attention to the lyrics this is the story of the band first being hired by the label, selling heavy metal and then fearing of being hated because of the artistic direction they're taking. This song is a "mise en abyme" edit : hey calm down i wrote this during the 10 first second of the music and then thought it was obvious too XD

HERE WE FUCKING GO BABY. 1.No,is not alright that from metal you changed to pop okay?We metalheads and rockers all around the globe or (the flat earth),oved did this and enjoyed it because it made us different, showed how we are.No metalhead has a problem with a band going metal, but instead of stopping or changing a bit style going pop,the thing that we all hate, commercial bullshit radio music,is a bad move no matter who what says. 2.It ain't heavy metal and is alright?Let me stop you there,i gues i do not have to explain the stupidity here. 3.No i don't love you anymore.I loved you guys when all the other METALHEADS refused you all and said you are a kids stupid band, and i always argued with them, telling them dude, this guys are fucking metal, not anymore i guess. 4.I love how they created a song to what?Make the metalheads stop their hate?Dude, you are changing religions here okay?Generations after generations will say the same. You can't be metal and do this. 5.THAT LAST BREAKDOWN WAS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE AND THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THE LAST METAL SOUND EVER CREATED BY YOU GUYS.I APPRECIATE THAT AND WILL ALWAYS DO IT FOR THE OLD SONGS.Every journey has to end i guess..some end good others...well..like this. Conclusion:-Thanks for reading first of all.Metalheads,we loved this band, but we will never hear metal again from this guys.So i guess is time to move on?Let's make this the last song on which we post our hate and disappointment. And i was foolish enough to believe there would be a hard good heavy metal song.Look brothers of metal, this band died unfortunately, will always live in our memory and for the ones that did not got a chance to see them live,i'm sorry. But i guess there is nothing to do,we the ones that made them big,the fans will be changed with some other ones, but hey there are still a fuck tone of bands, don't you give up on heavy metal. We listen to metal, there is a reason why,and you all know it well. And as a last thing,to see how bad this band became..the verse "cause a kid on the gram says he used to be a fan and this shit aint heavy metal",i mean..really?Moking their fans for not giving them what they wanted to hear?We wanted metal, and you made a fucking song, about the fans, without which you wouldn't be there...

@Sean Rooker That's making the assumption that younger kids/teens don't listen to metal. I was listening to them in their heavier metal stage when I was much younger and I'm not I'm my late 20's to early 30's currently, therefore your comment is slightly invalid. There are new fans that are younger, there's new fans that are older, there's old fans who have grown with their music and there's the people who are either too judgemental of their change to like the music now or just don't enjoy it and respect their decision.

This album ages so well. The more you listen, the better it sounds. I was a little hesitant going from Sempiternal to this, because Sempiternal felt like their peak and I was afraid this meant they were going to sour. I was wrong to doubt, because experimentation is what ushered in the post-hardcore/metalcore/theatercore/whatever you-want-to-lable it-core era in the first place.

Why would anyone hate the band for doing different genres, or for mixing different genres like BMTH do? I mean, it only goes to show how talented and versatile they are... Plus, this song is a proper banger :)

It's always so fascinating when old fans become belligerent over a new shift in style, because from what i've seen that style shift will only serve as more material to create more truly unique music with. Combining the old with the new to make something incredible; that's what I love to hear in my favourite bands.

Jesus Christ people just get over the fact that BMTH wants to do something different, if you don't like it then don't listen to it. If you want to listen to Metalcore or Deathcore then there are still enough bands out there for you, also you still can listen to the older BMTH albums.

I listened to it. I read the lyrics. Just because they acknowledged that they alienated a HUGE chunk of their original fanbase doesn't change the fact that the fanbase is still alienated. Self-awareness doesn't fix the issues people have with you. If anything, it makes you come off as a conceited douche if you don't do anything to reach out to those fans.

This song is so good. Coming from somebody who kinda stopped listening once I heard they went in more of a pop rock direction, I kinda stepped back for a few years, but this song came on my KZbin radio station a while back andI loved it. I commend him for doing what he wants to do and not just letting fans decide what he sounds like, and listening to it now, I really like everything he has done. I love the very end of this. Its like Ollie is pretty much saying "hey look, I still got it, but I have to enjoy what I'm doing and this stuff is what feels right at the time". Ollie's talent range for genres is just something truly incredible though! Just really an amazing song!

I remember when sempiternal came out all the fans from suicide season and there is a hell would say how shitty and weak they were now and how there fans were now a bunch of emo girls. Now the sempiternal fans are doing that too this album. And the funniest part is the count your blessings fans said the exact same thing about suicide season. Makes me laugh how things never change.

People have the right to like what they like. It's always dumb posers thinking everyone has to think the same. I like the album so far, but this song alone makes this the last album I buy from them. You don't piss on the fans who made you what you are. A band doesn't owe everything to its talents. Without the support from their fans, a band can fail. This record already alienated many OG fans who mostly like metal. Nothing with liking mostly metal. There's everything wrong with pissing off your older fans.
