Got a newer version of the same car, video helped allot, i managed to hide all the wires throught the door gromits and wired the lights straight instead of wavy around dash. Also wired go rear auto lights - so come on when lights come on. Thanks for ur very informative video help allot..🙏

Great video🙌🙌i installed it in the same car f20 bmw 1 series, i got the power from the sport-eco buttons but it flash 3 times and dont work anymore i have to turn off the light and turn it back on! I'm thinking about putting LED light strips on my 2014 F20. The car already has courtesy lights on all the doors. My question is: Can I use this connection to connect the LED strips?? and after turning them on, they worked simultaneously in the intensity regulation that the car has?? Essalamu Aleykum brother wish I could bring it to you but live in Australia brisbane I have a m235i interior similar to 1 series, I would like to use power off the ambient light off the window switches I was told that works i was wondering were do you put the dash light led and cables I know you said footwell ambient lights are the power source, in all brother I think I got the console and doors worked out but a little lost with the dash thank you brother keep up the great work 👍

Hello, i decided to do the Symphony ambilight in my f31 2013. ( No ambilight before.) I do have a Problem with the lights They don't turn on with the light sensor. And when I close the car they stay long on, because I took from the cigarette lighter. Could you share where I can connect the light to turn on just when it's dark? Thanks in advance

Thank you so much bro, and yep sure it can be done indeed and I know others have done it. It takes a little while to do it and get it done right. I was running up against time limits for this install but its 100% not impossible.

Looks good bro 👌. Quick question though, why didn't you tap into fuse box to get a oem plus finish ? No wire cutting or tapping in to existing wire

Thanks bro, and I guess the quickest answer is the location really, its quick and easy there, not really needing to route the wiring around as much and the overall finish is pretty much the exact same. Tapping/cutting wires when done right should reduce anything and in many ways is less risky than tapping into the fuse box. Thats my logic behind it and by all means I am always willing to learn more. When I need to go a step further on some projects I do but as with everything the more special and bespoke you want something the most time it will take and in turn the higher the cost. So its a balancing act really.

@@mrgcc Great install. I also sometime tape into it wires for some jobs but I prefer to fuse tape than wire or de-pin and connect (This takes longer and I only do this jobs where the harness connector is closer, like doing twin reverse lights). Eitherway great install 🙂😎

Yeah I had a good experience doing that on the CLA which you can see on KZbin as well. It is a lot more work and does give a more complete finish. To most they wont ever notice the difference or appreciate the finish as we would who are looking out for those smaller details lol

I know it’s 2 years later but when you tapped it to the cigarette lighter how do you turn it on and off. The lighter is constantly on

Sure so with the lighter. On the fibre optic I used to power the main for the ignition live wire the grey and red.

@@mrgcc Thought i'd give you a quick update, I treid to install through sports buttons (centre console)- auto headlights but there was not enough volts coming through the wires to power lights. May have to resort to wired kit.

Dont these have a small light just below the heater controls? Literally if you run your fingers along the bottom plastic you can feel it

Why don’t you cut the wires to feed it into the door tubing then rejoin it… you can’t be having a wire like that across the door running into the door cards man that’s shocking

It'd something I offer but it takes more time which in turn costs more money. Its down to the owner of the car if they want that done or not. You can see in other videos of mine where I have done that such as the CLA install. 👍
