BMW recently defended the current designs saying they know many hate it but it's done mainly for the Chinese market who are now the biggest consumers and they love the big mouth and squinty eyes look. This is why many manufacturers are now walking the same path. The big vertical grill isn't new tho, go look at the 30s and 40s cars. TBH no BMW has ever had a good looking grill.

Beautiful car. The grill jokes are getting soooo boring especially as most of these haters won’t notice it in a years time or will own one themselves. The rest can’t afford it anyway!

It must have been a cycle impulse outside its traditional LCI life cycle.. that grille will go down a treat at friends houses for the BBQ.... just bring your own snags... :-) can't wait for the next LCI to fix it.

i've seen this car in person, its as ugly as press videos. one of the ugliest designs for a premium brand. i get it, lot of reviewers are trying to be polite.. honest review of the good interior though
