BMW succeeded in their goal: make the world talk about the brand. The 4 series has a small market share, so it was justified to make this move (no risk). They would not gamble with the 3 or the 5 series. In the long run, this will be OK. The message is- we are bold pioneers. If this sells, say hello to your future beaver-teeth 3 series in 2022.🐹

Ruan Steve I believe to stand out from other versions. So you can say... this is a M440i ! My current BMW 440i has two exhaust pipes, one on the left and one on the right (while the other versions only have one on the left). If you see my car from behind, you can say right away ... this is a 440i without reading the number.
